To provide a platform for private sector initiatives that seek to promote Mind Sports by establishing facilities and services at academic institutions

OVERVIEW

• MSAP is inspired by International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) which operates in collaboration with U.N., UNESCO and IOC

• MSAP was established with the primary objective:• To create an awareness at academic institutions to generate

interest amongst the Mind Sports enthusiasts• Infuse an element of competition

• MSAP selected Chess, Bridge and Scrabble with the support of already established regulatory bodies

1st MIND SPORTS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

• Mind Sports Association of Pakistan (MSAP) organized the 1st Mind Sports National Championship from August 14~17,2008 at the  South End Club - Karachi

• The championship included competitions in the Youth and Open categories in Bridge, Chess and Scrabble with prize money of Rupees One million

• The championship is scheduled to be an annual event

• The event institutionalized the existence of MSAP and provided confidence to the sponsors, participants and academia as a serious and long-term initiative
