Hodnik is Chairman, Presi- dent, and CEO of ALLETE, the parent company for Minnesota Power Company; Superior Water, Light and Power; ALLETE Clean Energy; ALLETE Renewable Resources; U.S. Water Services; and BIN Energy. He was named President of ALLETE in 2009, CEO in 2010, and Chairman in 2011. He has served as Vice President of Genera- tion Operations, Senior Vice President – Minne- sota Power Operations, and Chief Operating Officer. He joined the company in 1982. He serves on the boards of Essentia Health’s East Region and PolyMet Mining Corporation. M r. Miranda is Senior Vice Presi- dent of Power Delivery for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). He is responsible for the planning, engineering, construction, maintenance, and operations of the company’s transmission, substation, and distribution facilities. He joined the com- pany in 1982 and was named to his current position in 2013. He has served as Vice President of Transmission & Substation and Vice President of Distribution System Perfor- mance, and has held a variety of positions within the customer service and distribution areas of the business. Donnelly is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Commonwealth Edison Company, an Exelon Company. He leads ComEd’s day-to-day operations and is responsible for performance in operations, engineering, safety, service reliability, cus- tomer satisfac- tion, financial management, and smart grid devel- opment. He began his career at PECO in 1983 and, prior to his current position, served as ComEd’s Executive Vice President of Operations, leading all energy delivery and transmission system operations. He has held several other executive positions at PECO and ComEd, covering a broad range of functions. ®

Power Apparatus Committee, accepted a Certificate of Appreciation from Al Hodnik.
Ken Dimpfl, AEP, Chair of the AEIC Meter & Service Committee, briefed AEIC
Members on the Committee’s initiatives.
Keynote speaker Paul Zikopoulos, Vice President of IBM, discussed the opportunities for Big Data
within the electric utility and other industries.
Lynn Barnes, Ameren, together with Dave Wakeman, Ameren, discussed efforts to develop a forum for Big Data
within AEIC.
Marilyn Caselli, Consolidated Edison of NY, Chair of
AEIC’s Customer Service Committee, reported on innovative programs for
interfacing with customers.
AEIC’s 133rd Annual Meeting featured associates from AEIC member companies presenting new programs and new technologies that their companies are implementing to improve electric system operation and to better serve customers. AEIC member companies
presenting new and technologically advanced programs and concepts included Consolidated Edison of NY, PPL Electric Utilities, TVA, American Electric Power, Oncor, Commonwealth Edison Company, and Florida Power & Light.

Repeating the theme of last year’s meeting, “Staying Ahead of the Curve,” this year the theme included the phrase “Round Two,” indicating the continuation of many new innovations and ideas. AEIC member companies making presentations included Southern Company, The United Illuminating Company, Salt River Project, Duke Energy, CPS Energy, Oklahoma Gas & Electric, and Ameren, as well as AEIC’s seven operating committees and industry suppliers.
