Newsletter 30, 2017 - Be a Learner, Be Respectful, Be Safe Page 1 Creative Writing Presentation and Workshop On Wednesday 6th September Year 7 & 8 students enjoyed a creative writing presentation in the gymnasium given by the professional author Zanni Louise. Zanni Louise presented images and information on how she grew up as an adventurous kid and how she became an author of children's picture books. She told us how she has been writing stories since she was six but none of her stories were published until the age of 30. That teaches us that to be what you want to be you should never give up on your dream. Following the presentation Year 8J participated in an amazing workshop. We were taught techniques to writing a story. Zanni Louise inspired me so much that it brought out creative abilities I never thought I could do. I'm sure I would like to have more sessions like this and so would many other students. Working in the outdoors really was joyful and relaxing. I felt I could concentrate on what I was doing and getting great feedback from Zanni Louise was helpful. I would like to thank Mrs Zann for organising this day and I would also like to that Zanni Louise for spending her time to give us an inspirational talk and workshop. Creative Writing Presentation and Workshop On Wednesday 6th September Year 7 & 8 students enjoyed a creative writing
presentation in the gymnasium given by the professional author Zanni Louise.
Zanni Louise presented images and information on how she grew up as an
adventurous kid and how she became an author of children's picture books.
She told us how she has been writing stories since she was six but none of
her stories were published until the age of 30.
That teaches us that to be what you want to be you should never give up on
your dream.
Following the presentation Year 8J participated in an amazing workshop. We
were taught techniques to writing a story.
Zanni Louise inspired me so much that it brought out creative abilities I never
thought I could do.
I'm sure I would like to have more sessions like this and so would many other
students.
Working in the outdoors really was joyful and relaxing. I felt I could
concentrate on what I was doing and getting great feedback from Zanni
Louise was helpful.
I would like to thank Mrs Zann for organising this day and I would also like to
that Zanni Louise for spending her time to give us an inspirational talk and
workshop.

Italian Exchange What a fantastic two weeks it has been, spending
time to get to know the Italian students that visited
us. Getting to know them was great! The
adventures we had, the laughs we shared, the
stories we told and now have to tell.
We showed them the Australian way of life. The
smiles they had on their faces when they saw all
the wildlife at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The
kangaroos at camping, the dolphins in the river
while canoeing, the beautiful surf at Byron Bay,
the rock pools and rainforest at Protesters Falls .
Even them looking at the waves at the beaches
we went to. The things we look at everyday and
don’t think about much, made the Italian Students
so happy.
The Evans River Students will now head to Italy in
2018 and continue to enjoy the friendships they
have made when they stay with the families in
Italy.

Studying Overseas Recently I have had some enquiries about the process involved to study of overseas. The link on our website will give you information about studying in the USA and in the UK or by selecting Post School Options>Overseas University Study on our website. It is important for students to realise that most Australian universities also have partnerships with many international universities. This allows students to study part of their Australian degree overseas and receive credit for the units they successfully complete. There are also scholarships that can help finance these studies.
