AND BLOCKBUSTER MUSICALS OF THE 1940’S, WAS A NEW ERA IN

FILMMAKING THAT WOULD FOREVER CHANGE HOW WE VIEW MOTION PICTURES.

THIS NEW GENRE, APTLY NAMED FILM NOIR, LURED AUDIENCES INTO A

DARK WORLD OF DRAMA AND SUSPENSE THROUGH MASTERFUL USAGE OF

LIGHTING AND SPECIAL EFFECTS.

The suggestion of a person concealed behind a mesh curtain became magnified and ominous when lit from below. Noir films were notorious for utilising sheer fabric and lighting to keep key characters shrouded in order to fabricate a cryptic sense of scandal.

ENVIRONMENT

Tai Ping supports the independent, third-party product verification process. While we do not disparage first party claims, we recognise that our customers need and appreciate manufacturers who participate in independent vetting processes guided by national and international standards. Our products have achieved the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label Plus certification. Tai Ping has received certification through the NSF 140 certification process, the first multi-attribute sustainability standard in the building industry that touches every aspect of the triple bottom line and accounts for impacts throughout the supply chain.

Programs are in place throughout all our factories that consistently measure usage of water and energy, emissions and waste per square meter of carpet produced. This enables us to manage the reduction of both consumption and waste on a continuous basis.

For years we have certified our manufacturing facilities in accordance with ISO requirements. Since 2000, our tile factory in Thailand achieved the ISO 9001 quality management certification and has been certified to ISO 14001, the environmental management system, since 2004.

CERTIFICATIONS

Our products contribute to the dominant rating systems around the globe. In accordance with LEED standards, our products support the rapidly renewable credits in the Existing Building standard; credits 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 for post-consumer credits; and credit 6 for rapidly renewable content in New Construction and Commercial Interiors.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Wool sets the standard to which other fibres aspire. Instead of trying to replicate the qualities of wool in a synthetic material, Tai Ping Contract has elected to use 100% wool itself. Wool is also a rapidly renewable material that reinforces the company’s commitment to meaningful environmental action.

To complement the luxury and environmental attributes of this contract blend wool fibre, Tai Ping’s carpet tiles are manufactured with Premise™ attached cushion backing. Premise™ is a non-PVC backing system comprised of 80% post-consumer recycled content, which is derived from plastic water bottles and textiles. Premise™ not only extends the product’s usable life, but also enhances sound absorption and under-foot comfort in these discerning executive spaces.
