• The Central Library of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela has named after Biju Patnaik - the former Chief Minister of Odisha, the legendary industrialist and statesman and the founding Chairman of Board of Governors of REC Rourkela.
• It has been functional since 1965.
• Has four storeys covering an area of 2400 sq. mts.
