2. SUMMARY

Knowledge and Technology Transfer is a topic in which the consortium members showed interest in several meetings, therefore, the team focused on finding an expert on the topic at European level for this Innovation Training. The training was designed to encourage the participant’s thinking about the benefits of Open Innovation and understanding the impact of Innovation, the new role of the researchers as social actors of the change and the importance to integrate scientific education with managerial skills. The participants learned how to become aware of the importance of the Public engagement and communication in the chain of innovation and how the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office can be the outreach interface of the scientific community. The training was given by Manuela Arata. Founder and President of the Genoa Science Festival and Genova Makers's Village. She was General Director of the National Institute for Physics of Matter and Manager for the CNR's Technology Transfer Officer until 2013. Expert in innovation management, IPR and business creation, Professor of Management of Research and Visiting Professor at the University Del Salvador from Buenos Aires and Higher Council for Science and Technology of the Jordan Kingdom. Co-founder of the Shanghai Academy for Scientific Explainers. Member of the Research, Innovation and Science Policy Experts (RISE) High Level Group (HLG), she has held various positions as an Independent Expert for the European Commission.
