The Innovation Center will utilize creative design methods, physical models, computer-based simulations,

computational hardware, advanced manufacturing equipment, software, sensors, instrumentation, broadband,

and advanced analysis and visualization tools to solve problems in the wood products and energy science areas,

two of the high job growth demand areas in the United States (U.S. Department of Labor, 2008).
