What is the process?

• Interested schools must complete an on-line self-evaluation survey and a detailed application. Completed applications are due by August 25th, each year.

• In September and October applications are reviewed by a team of trained practitioners.

• In late October through December state visitation teams visit applicant schools to look for evidence of the STW criteria.

• The visitation team can make one of three recommendations: 1) at this time the school is not recognized as a STW, 2) school is recognized as a Keystone School, 3) school is recognized as a National School to Watch.

• Regardless of the designation each school receives the detailed report and the commitment of the State STW team to work with the school so recommended changes can be made.
