Eligibility is determined by MOE, not school
Offered to students who took Mother Tongue Language (MTL) or Higher MTL at the PSLE, and are Students in the top 10% of the PSLE; or Students in the top 30% of the PSLE who score an A* in
MTL or at least a Merit in HMTL

• Students who are eligible to offer HMT will receive a notification and the HMT Offer Letter via Parent’s Gateway by 23 December 2020. Please use the Parent’s Gateway notification to indicate your acceptance of the HMT offer.

For students who are interested to offer HMTL but did not receive offer letter by MOE Schools have flexibility to allow these students to offer
HMTL if assessed to have exceptional ability in MTL, and be able to do HMTL without affecting their
performance in other subjects For appeals, please contact the General Office at
62655980 by 27 Dec 2020.

HMTL Appeal procedure For HCL or HML, interested students with A* in MTL or
ME/ DI in HMTL at PSLE can apply for consideration to offer the subject
Beyond Secondary 1, students must meet the school-based criteria to continue to offer the subject
As HTL is offered externally, the final decision would reside with the school centres offering these subjects
All students who are not successful in the appeal will still have an opportunity to offer HMTL at the end of Secondary 1 or Secondary 2 if they meet the school-based criteria at the end of year examinations

What are the Art & Music Elective Programmes (AEP/MEP)?
• Special MOE programmes started since 1982 for students with passion and aptitude in art/music so that they can further deepen their knowledge, skills and appreciation in these areas
• Develops students to be well-rounded leaderswho are advocates for the arts
• Provide enriched art/music learning environment for students to pursue in-depth study into art/music

• Learn through studio practice and art criticism
• Engage with a range of materials, media and creative processes
• Learn from art practitioners and peers from AEP schools

Phase 1 (by 27 January)Submit an an e-Portfolio comprising of 3-5 artworks* you have done and a short paragraph to explain what art making and enrolling in AEP means to you.
Phase 2 (16-26 February) – for shortlisted Phase 1 applicants E-Interview to share your ideas and art making experiences, with reference to your e-Portfolio. You may also be invited to participate in a short art task during the interview.
*May include artworks completed during Art lessons/ Art Club sessions

• Learn through analysing, creating and performing music
• Engage with a range of music across genres and traditions

Why OFFER Higher Level Subjects?
Each student is different and possesses different strengths Help each student find fulfilment in learning and be motivated to excel in
what he/she is good at Help students build a stronger foundation for offering out-of-stream
subjects at the Upper Secondary Students who are eligible to offer SBB subjects will receive a notification
and the SBB Offer Letter via Parent’s Gateway by 23 December 2020. Please use the Online Acceptance Form in the Parent’s Gateway notification to indicate your child’s acceptance of the SBB offer.
