The City of Salisbury has many beautiful parks, reserves, wetlands and playgrounds for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy. Salisbury boasts more than 130 parks and reserves and more than 50 kilometres of walking trails.

Over the past two decades, the City of Salisbury has progressively transformed the landscape of the Council area, creating parklands, linear parks, reserves and a network of outdoor recreation facilities.

The City’s irrigation network and watering program keeps the greenery alive and healthy during summer. Recycled water is used to irrigate our parks and open spaces and support habitat for native fauna. Much of the water is harvested from the City’s 52 wetlands and storm water detention basins, which require regular monitoring of water quality.

Walking and cycling trails have been established in many of the reserves and wetlands including the Little Para Trails, the Wodliparri Trail at Kaurna Park, and Dry Creek Linear Park. Many of our larger parks and reserves incorporate safe children’s playgrounds, picnic areas and free BBQs.
