ICT4 Emergent Development: Using Virtual Worlds and Web 2.0 in the Dominican Republic for Innovation and
Emergence
This paper reports on the results of a year and half project in the Dominican Republic using the virtual world Second Life and other web 2.0 applications for full capacity transfer. Working in tandem with an organization that is the think tank of President Leonel Fernandez --Funglode.org -- we engaged multi sectors of society, introducing social networking tools, open access to information and free and open access to the virtual world Second Life.
This slide show accompanied a paper I presented to the Edulearn09 International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies in Barcelona in summer 2009 entitled:
Emergence“Design and emergence both represent the processes of morphogenesis, as they both give birth to new forms. Both represent a fork in the path of development, from the original form to that of a new organism, product or service.”
