Mastering Materials

LEATHER The full-grain leather we use is both strong and supple. Our split leather offers excellent abrasion and tear resistance. Leather, which is naturally breathable, offers a high level of comfort and excellent dexterity. Special treatments impart additional properties. Water-repellent: the leather becomes resistant to water, and washable, and its stays soft after drying. Oil-repellent: the leather becomes resistant to oil. Siliconized: the leather becomes resistant to flying incandescent particles. Heat resistance: the leather becomes undeformable at 250C. COTTON A natural fibre that is supple, absorbent and soft. It has the advantage of being a good thermal insulating material and may be fireproofed. (PROBAN treatment).

ACRYLIC A synthetic material that is resistant to abrasion and tearing. DYNEEMA High-Density Polyethylene offers exceptional resistance to abrasion, breaking and shearing. It provides a feeling of freshness and comfort and is very lightweight. KEVLAR TWARON Para-aramide is resistant to breaking and shearing and offers excellent thermal resistance. STAINLESS STEEL Offers very high shearing resistance, also used under thermal conditions.

NITRISNAKE Calendered nitrile coating; the surface is comparable to snakeskin. This process provides excellent grip under greasy and damp conditions. NITRITECTM This nitrile coating has microscopic asperities, very substantillay improving and reinforcing the products grip. ZIRNIUMTM Concept of high-tenacity thread developed by Rostaings R&D department.

PVC Polyvinil Chloride.

POLYPROPYLENE A synthtic water-repellent, supple and comfortable material.

PREMIUM Concept of threads made of polyamide and composite fibreglass. ALUMINISE Aluminium backed with para-aramide flannelette. ARMORFRAME Concept of high tenacity fibers reinforced by stainless steel fiber.

POLYURETHANE A supple synthetic material that is abrasion-resistant and breathable.

ARMORFRAME

POLYESTER A synthetic material that is resistant to abrasion and tearing.

POLYAMIDE A synthetic material that is resistant to abrasion and tearing, as well as to heat, up to 150C.

WOOL A natural fibre that is supple and soft. Has good insulating capacity and natural fireproofing.

ARAMIDE

ARAMIDE Material made with a mix of meta-aramide and para-aramide.

VEROST Woven fibreglass coated with silicone.

NITRILE A supple synthetic material that is resistant to chemicals and grease. LATEX A natural, supple material that is resistant to abrasion.Chloroprne

WATER BASED POLYURETHANE Synthetic material resistant to abrasion, not treated with solvents. CHLOROPRENE Synthetic material.

SAFERGRIP Textile/Silicone mesh complex that withstands extreme heat and cold. SUPRAMET Mix of fibreglass and ceramics.

NITFOAM Air is pre-injected into this nitrile coating, to incorporate foam into it. This process gives the nitrile extensive flexibility and breathability.

PORELLE PU membrane providing waterproofness, breathability (vapour transfer), blood borne pathogen resistance and viral and chemical protection. POLYCARBONATE Synthetic material that offers a very high resistance to chocks and deformations.

Legal European StandardsROSTAING GUARANTEES QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH EUROPEAN STANDRADSOBLIGATIONS POUR LEMPLOYEURThe employer is required to: Provide, free of charge and for personal use, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with regulations and appropriate for the work to be performed. Verify the correct choice of PPE based on analysis of the hazards to be covered and on the performance offered by the equipment. Ensure effective use of the PPE : inform the personnel in charge of its implementation and maintenance and ensure that the equipment functions properly. Inform the users of the users of the hazards against which the PPE protects them, of the conditions of use and of provision, and of all instructions and directions. Provide the users with training and practice for wearing the PPE.

ISO 13997 StandardTDM slice testThe new version of the EN388 2003 standard has integrated another test method (in line with the international standard ISO 13997) performed by a TDM machine. This test method may be used in addition to the couptest according to the EN388 2003 standard for performance levels 4 or over. EN388 2003: The cut index is calculated according to the number of cycles needed to cut through the sample. ISO 13997 - TDM : The cut index is calculated according to the force necessary to slice the sample while moving the blade over the fabric for at least 20 mm. The blade is changed with each test. The requirements for obtaining a level five performance in this test are more stringent than those of the EN 388 2003 standard. Hence this slice test method guarantees a cut resistance level that is in line with the products use.

THE NOTIFIED BODIES:(Having performed tests on Rostaing gloves)

INSTRUCTION FOR USEBefore each time protective gloves are used, the user must be informed of their conditions of use as well as of the type of hazards against which they protect, in order to verify that they correspond properly to the work to be performed. A users guide is enclosed with the smallest packaging component or the The letter i in the pictogram featured in the marking on the glove indicates the obligation to read the manufacturers instructions.
