Why Choose AWTH/AWR/AWS Acoustic Washers?Farrat anti vibration washers are used to isolate bolt through connections by providing a resilient separation of the bolt and the isolated structure and in the case of AWR where there is no space available for an isolation sleeve.
Features❫ Used in conjunction with acoustic / anti vibration pads to provide
a degree of vibration isolation across bolt through fixings where necessary for stability and security
❫ If an acoustic washer is omitted then the anti vibration pad will be bypassed by the fixing bolt and will therefore offer limited isolation and the vibration can be transmitted through the fixing bolt
❫ Manufactured for durability, performance and ease of on site installation by vulcanising zinc plated washer to a Chloroprene (Neoprene) acoustic washer and sleeve (bush)
❫ Good oil, chemical and fire resistance
❫ Operating temperature range from –10 to +90 ºC
❫ Fire rating / building material class: B2
ApplicationsAny bolt through connection which requires isolation such as:
❫ Steelwork Isolation in building structures
❫ Machine tool holding down bolts
AWTHIncorporates isolation sleeve
AWRUsed when no space available for isolation sleeve

Precision Levelling Elements (WL-LE)Levelling mounts
Why Choose Precision Levelling Elements?WL-LEs provide a system of installation of large or heavy equipment which requires a very rigid connection to their foundations and which also require very accurate alignment for satisfactory performance; for example machines which are subjected to significant changes in load distribution during operation. Farrat Precision Wedge Levelling Elements (WL-LE) can be used for supporting and levelling machinery and equipment during construction, erection and operation.
WL-LEs are the same basic form as standard Wedgemount but the top and bottom faces are precision machined to provide an accurate, rigid support for maximum stiffness.
Construction❫ Rigid Machine to foundation integration
❫ Precision adjustment to obtain very fine alignment
❫ Systemised heavy machine installation
❫ A very high degree of machine bed stiffness (by conversion of support points from pivot support to a virtually fixed or built-in support)
❫ A very tight connection between the machine and floor without distortion of the machine bed. The tighter the connection the more the concrete will integrate itself with the machine thus increasing the reinforcing effect of the concrete
❫ Facility to carry out subsequent readjustments to alignment to correct foundation settlements and movements which may occur from time to time
❫ Support for machines which are subjected to significant changes in load distribution during operation
Typical Applications❫ Levelling and supporting heavy components on machine tool tables
❫ Long bed machinery
❫ Large boring and milling machines
❫ Grinding machines
❫ Transfer Machines
❫ Rolling mills
❫ Gas turbines
❫ Large compressors
❫ Nuclear reactors
❫ Buildings and structures

Spheriseats (SPS)Spheriseats (SPS) can be supplied bonded on top of the WL-LE units to take up complex angles (from floor irregularities etc) between the floor and the machine. This is important to ensure a full, secure seating and to relieve any stresses which could build up in the machine base.

LevalatorsPrecision Levelling mounts
Levalators improve large, precision and long bed machinery performance by increasing alignment accuracy, rigidity and stability. Large machines generally need good foundations both to re-inforce the machine bed and to reduce vibration by mass damping. Levalators are the vital connection between machine and foundation enabling machine and foundation to become one unit. A machine on weak supports may as well not have a foundation.
Levalators can be fully grouted in, thus achieving a virtually built-in or encastré support which considerably increases the stiffness of the machine base and creates complete machine foundation integration.
Why choose Farrat Levalators? The most accurate method of precision alignment
❫ Rigid support for maximum machine bed stiffness
❫ Total machine-to-foundation integration
❫ Low overall height to ensure a low machine centre of gravity
❫ Systemised and predictable precision machine installation
❫ Precision adjustment to obtain very fine alignment
❫ High bolt tensions without bed distortion
❫ Micrometer type height adjustment range of 12mm
❫ Facility to carry out subsequent alignment readjustments
❫ For machines with significant changes in load distribution
❫ No horizontal forces applied when adjusting
❫ High ratio of lifting force to adjustment torque
❫ Developed and manufactured by Farrat
❫ Used for decades in countless applications worldwide

Why choose Farrat Coil Spring Isolators?Farrat’s range of heavy duty structural coil spring isolation systems provides low frequency vibration isolation for large structures and industrial equipment. They have been used worldwide for a wide range of applications.
❫ FSL Coil Spring Isolation systems are used to provide both active and passive vibration isolation with natural frequencies down to 3Hz to isolate disturbing frequencies down to 6Hz
❫ Where a system is likely to pass through or near resonance and excessive movement is a concern it is recommended that FV Viscous Dampers are used in conjunction with the FSL springs. This combination of FSL Coil Spring Isolators and FV Viscous Dampers also provides excellent shock absorption
❫ FSLV Coil Spring and Viscous Damper Isolators combine an FV viscous damper into a modified FSL Coil Spring Isolator to provide a compact integrated unit
Typical Applications❫ Roll grinding machines
❫ Power generation equipment (compressors, pumps, fans, gas and steam turbines, condensers)
❫ Crushing, milling and shredding equipment
❫ Oil and gas offshore platforms
❫ Building Structures
Farrat will design the isolation system to meet a customer’s specific technical requirements and provide construction drawings, installation instructions and optional installation supervision with all FSL Coil Springs. For clarification:
Active Shock and Vibration Isolation involves isolation of a dynamic system to reduce the effects of vibration and shock on nearby machinery, people and building structures.
Passive Shock and Vibration Isolation involves the protection of sensitive structures or equipment from the effects of vibration and shock caused by nearby plant, machinery, vehicles, people etc.
Shock Isolation involves the Isolators storing the energy of the shock through isolator deflection and subsequent release in a smoother form over a longer period with lower overall amplitude. FSLV Viscous Dampers limit this movement by converting the kinetic energy of the movement into heat within the viscous fluid of the damper.

Why choose Farrat Isolated Foundations?Isolated foundations provide the highest level of vibration control for a very wide range of industrial machines and equipment Farrat has been designing, manufacturing and installing isolated foundations for over 40 years and we pride ourselves on our experience and technical capabilities to assist in designing the optimum system for the machine / equipment type and operation characteristics, ground and surrounding environment conditions and customers’ specific requirements.
FeaturesFarrat Isolated Foundations combine the use of:
❫ High performance vibration isolation materials
❫ Mass damping
❫ Rigid, uniform fixing of the equipment to its foundation
To provide frequency controlled system with minimal movement and transmissibility.
We can provide a full installation kit or we can install the system directly.
ApplicationsFarrat’s Isolated Foundations can be designed to provide:
Shock and Active Isolation (to prevent noisy, vibration emitting equipment from disturbing their surroundings) e.g:
Power presses, cupping presses, drop hammers, forges, metal forming & cutting machines, engine test beds, dynamometers, rolling roads, diesel generators, pumps, compressors, printing presses, cement and coal crushers, rolling mills, roll grinders, turbomachinery, bodymakers, car crushers, recycling equipment etc.
Passive isolation (to prevent sensitive equipment from being disturbed by structure born vibration) e.g:
Lateral isolation (to prevent ground-borne vibration affecting precision machines where vertical stiffness is critical to machine performance) e.g:
Long bed machine tools, vertical lathes, horizontal & vertical machining centres, boring and milling machines.
More information on vibration theory and detail of isolated foundations can be found on our website or we invite you to contact us directly at [email protected] or +44 (0) 161 924 1600

Isomat Isolated Foundations These are our most popular system due to their versatility, high performance and very wide range of applications.
We offer a range of materials to suit the exact project requirements.
FSL Coil Spring Isolated FoundationsFSL Coil Spring Isolation systems are used to provide both active and passive vibration isolation with natural frequencies down to 3Hz to isolate disturbing frequencies down to 6Hz.
If damping is required then Farrat FV Viscous Dampers can be used in conjunction with the FSL springs.
FSL Coil springs can be employed in a variety of combinations and support arrangements to meet a customer’s specific technical requirements.
Special Isolated FoundationsWhere Isomat or coil spring foundations are not suitable we have developed a range of special foundations to meet specific project or machine type requirements. These could be constructed using: VERLIMBER, FAVIM or VIDAM.
Laterally Isolated FoundationsWhere foundation stiffness is critical but a degree of active or passive isolation is required even only from the risk of random occurrences such as accidentally dropped heavy items nearby. It is advised that lateral vibration isolation is incorporated between the sidewalls of the foundation block and the surrounding structure.
Farrat’s ISOFOAM range is ideal for such applications.
