Many old towns, market places or pedestrian areas are illuminated elegantly by historic luminaires. Often, there are still used light sources just as historic such as for example mercury vapour lamps.

The RLS-DO module has been designed predominantly for refurbishing old town luminaires. But also modern decorative luminaires can gain from retrofit with this module.

By using the individual LED replacement kit the appearance of luminaire and town will be conserved. Further, lighting and installation costs will be reduced by latest LED technology and light management systems.

With coming into force of the second step of the ErP directive regarding high pressure discharge lamps on April 13th 2015, new mercury vapour lamps must not be sold any more within EU. Due to low investment costs these lamps have been commonly used in street and industrial lighting. In order to achieve a certain amount of light, as of today these lamps do need much more electric energy than professional LED solutions.
