OUR HISTORYIndigo Kulani Group is an integrated multi-disciplinary infrastructure and property development holding company. The company was established in 2006 and initially specialised in the provision of planning and design services within the construction industry. Over the past few years we have rapidly grown from strength to strength into the formidable multi-disciplinary infrastructure and property development company that it is today. We pride ourselves through all our award winning achievements. We have an operational presence in all nine of South Africa’s provinces and have expanded our operations to other African countries. LIVES IMPACTED BY OUR PROJECTSThe scope of the ASIDI Programme comprises the following sub-programmes:

Sub-programme 1: Inappropriate Structures: 483 Schools that were built from inappropriate material in their entirety are replaced with new schools that meet the department’s standards of basic functionality.Sub-programme 2: Providing Sanitation: Facilities 939 Schools that previously did not have access to sanitation are supplied with at least a basic level of sanitation. Sub-programme 3: Providing Electricity: 932 Identified schools that are not serviced have access to electrical energy supply. Sub-programme 4: Providing Water: 1145 Schools that do not have access to water are provided with basic water supply.

The ASIDI programme managed to provide:• 179/483 inappropriate schools have been replaced • 615/1145 schools provided with basic water supply • 425/939 schools supplied with at least a basic level of sanitation• 307/932 schools have access to electrical energy supply

JOB CREATIONIn 2013 the programme created at least 959 job opportunities by the end of the third quarter. To date the ASIDI programme has created just over 27 739 job opportunities.

DEMOGRAPHICSEquity employment is reported for three categories of workers: Those who declare themselves to be woman, people with disabilities, and youth. Opportunities created thus far consist of:• 7% woman above 35• 69% youth • 1% people with disabilities

INTERNSHIPWork place experience for interns was provided by the Implementing agents, professional consultants and contractors to enable the young professionals to gain suitable experience. A total of 162 interns were offered in-service training during the implementation of this programme. This enabled the interns to benefit in terms of completing their practical training obligation towards their Built Environment Qualification.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF ASIDIThrough ASIDI alone, we have built and delivered 163 state of the art schools since the programmes inception in 2011. IKG, as part of a full team of experts, who gather to work together to design and deliver these schools that give our children science labs, computer labs, nutrition centers, rain water harvesting tanks, decent sanitation, administration blocks with staff rooms and offices for educators and dedicated Grade R centers. Thereby allowing us to lay the right foundation for our children, to have the best possible chances to success. Over and above this, the initiative has provided water to 596 schools, sanitation to 414 schools and electricity to 307 schools that previously had none. This is an investment in the future of South Africa.

According to the Basic Education Norms and Standard edition 21 August 2009 • A large primary school must have a capacity of 930 leaners• A large secondary school must have a capacity of 1000 learners

Indigo Kulani Group on average have contributed to education infrastructure to developing about 483 schools since the inception of the ASIDI programme. This has resulted in creating access to schooling for more than 9600 children per year since 2010.



LIVES IMPACTED BY OUR PROJECTSThe scope of the PMSU Programme was to provide services to enhance the health infrastructure projects delivery, leading to enhanced health service delivery.

1. Limpopo Province: IKG was involved in 14 Hospitals, 58 Clinics, assisting the Provincial department and National department of Health to develop norms and standards, project managing all facilities, monitoring and oversight support and developing of cost modelling tools.

2. Free State Province: IKG was involved in 20 Hospitals, 9 Clinics and 2 Community Health Centers. Assisting the Provincial department and National department of Health to develop norms and standards, project managing all facilities, monitoring and oversight support and developing of cost modelling tools.

3. Gauteng Province: IKG was involved in 17 Hospitals, 10 Clinics and 7 Community Health Centers. Assisting the Provincial department and National department of Health to develop norms and standards, project managing all facilities, monitoring and oversight support and developing of cost modelling tools.

The PMSU programme managed to provide:• 51 Hospitals upgraded to state of the art facilities• 77 Clinics upgraded to state of the art facilities• 9 CHC upgraded to state of the art facilities• 21.7 million people now have access to health facilities in Limpopo, Free State

and Gauteng.

JOB CREATIONTo date the PMSU programme has created just over 50 000 job opportunities with contractors, appointing a percentage of woman, youth and people with disabilities.

DEMOGRAPHICSEquity employment is reported for three categories of workers: Those who declare themselves to be woman, people with disabilities, and youth. Opportunities created thus far consist of:• 16% woman above 35• 75% youth • 1,5% people with disabilities

INTERNSHIPWork place experience for interns was provided by the Implementing agents, professional consultants and contractors to enable the young professionals to gain suitable experience. A total of 200 interns were offered in-service training during the implementation of this programme. This enabled the interns to benefit in terms of completing their practical training obligation towards their Built Environment Qualification.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF PMSUThrough the PMSU alone, we have built/upgraded and delivered 163 state of the art health facilities since the programme inception in 2010. IKG as part of a full team of experts worked to manage and deliver primary health services to be working in the very best way they can, with communities receiving required health care as close to home as possible.

There are 4 200 public health facilities in South Africa. People per clinic is 13 718, exceeding WHO guidelines of 10 000 per clinic. However, figures from March 2009 show that people averaged 2.5 visits a year to public health facilities and the usable bed occupancy rates were between 65% and 77% at hospitals.

IKG contributed to about 163 health facilities which gives an average of 1 630 000 people access to health facilities.



LIVES IMPACTED BY OUR PROJECTSThe scope of the Housing Projects comprises the following :

1. Limpopo Province: IKG was involved in a mixed development project that included 430 RDP, 260 GAP, 200 OPEN MARKET, 500 WALK UP UNITS, RETAIL CENTRE, TAXI RANK, SCHOOL, CLINIC AND BULK INFRASTRUCTURE.

2. Gauteng Province: IKG was involved with designing about 4500 houses for Alexandra Mixed Income development, Terenure urban design, Rethabiseng Low cost housing Development.

3. Eastern Cape Province: IKG was involved in a low cost housing project called Parsonsvlei low cost housing development. This development accommodated about 400 RDP housing including bulk infrastructure.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF HOUSING PROJECTSThe right to adequate housing is one of the most important basic human rights. It speaks to the restoration of dignity to the millions of South Africans who have been marginalised for centuries and who still suffer from the legacy of apartheid’s selective development.

IKG has aligned itself to the South African Governments Housing goal, to deliver over 1,5 million housing opportunities by 2019, as set out in the 2014-2019 Medium Term Strategic Framework. It also seeks to ensure, among other things, that poor households have access to adequate housing in better living environments.

IKG has contributed towards more than 6200 houses, which gives an average of 1550 families the opportunity of access to housing.
