Current Intel Assessment on PiracyPhysical Environment:• NE monsoon influencing weather throughout

AOR • Favorable conditions around GOA & HOA with

marginal/ unfavorable conditions in SB

Shipping Routes:• High traffic in BAM, GOA and GOO• Medium traffic in SB

Assessment based on Recent Data / Information:• No piracy attack reported in past year

• Fewer skiffs/ whalers encountered at sea but extensive IUU fishing activity continues off Somali coast. Possible concealment of piracy preparations among legitimate activity cannot be ruled out.

• Foreign IUU FVs can also trigger tensions between local authorities & fishermen.
