Indian High Commission Letter about Commercial Intelligence on Biometrix Marketing Pvt. Ltd.

Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) had reported on FDI inflows from Singapore [see http://www.slideshare.net/2sadanand/fdi-bio-metrix] during the period 2000-2008. The single largest investor during these years was Biometrix Marketing Pvt. Ltd. DIPP asked Singapore High Commission of India to investigate Biometrix Marketing company and provide commercial intelligence on it. Biometrix had invested over US$ 1.6 billion (more than INR 6,500 Crores) in 2007 and 2008. Company making such huge investments was expected to be a large entity with very sound financial positions. However, Indian High Commission found the situation was exactly contrary to reasonable expectations.
