The newly invented Indian Abacus device is
a highly advanced version tool and of
the state-of-the-art in design. The invented product
versions take the Abacus device to a level unseen
and unheard of so far.
Skill development program for
children aged 5 – 13 years
This newly Invented Colorful Indian Abacus device is used by the children to pursue arithmetic
calculations like Addition, Subtraction,Multiplication & Division.
The presentation enumerates methodology adopted for
Brain Skills
Indian Abacus & Mental Arithmetic
aimed at whole brain development
Remove the fear of Mathematics
You may be Wondering:
Why Abacus for calculations when there are so many latest gadgets for it ?
Is it not a travel back to olden days ?
To a certain extent – yes But the fact is
What Abacus does,
No other gadget can do
Important thing is
What Abacus CAN do other than calculations
the latest gadgets CANNOT do
Hence even today
Abacus has great relevance for it
and benefits to derive from
Indian Abacus and the Program
has more to give than
many others
WHY USE AN INDIAN ABACUS DEVICE IN THE PRESENCE OF CALCULATORS
Move Sliders to perform operations.
Answer is visible in the abacus.
Processing is done by child
Requires no electric power (Indian Abacus Non Digital)
PUNCH numbers to perform operation
Answer is visible in the calculator.
Processing is done by calculator
Requires external energy source
There ends the similarity
Superiority of Indian AbacusIndian Abacus Program facilitates the children to learn numbers and identify them as colour images, to add, subtract, multiply and divide them in doing the calculations.
Indian AbacusThe importance of identifying the numbers as colour images is a predominantly strong factor of the Indian Abacus tool.
Conventional AbacusThis is a conspicuously lacking feature in the conventional abacus in use now which has beads – which when manipulated to move towards a value position retain their original image and do not emerge as a disclosed colourimage.
Indian Abacus • The student while operating Indian Abacus moves the Lower and the upper
sliders to unhide and hide the colour images which represent values.
• The lower sliders when moved towards the bar unhide and display Green colour images and similarly
• The upper sliders when moved towards the bar unhide and display Red colour images.
Conventional AbacusIn the conventional abacus for image registry, the bead before and after moving retains its unchanged image, so it is received as a comparatively weaker image (due to the crowded matrix of beads and lacking distinction) hence the initial learning becomes difficult, a little stressful and the memory registry is also that much fragile.
The children find the visual learning difficult and less effective with the conventional abacus. The drop outs in the initial levels and errors in calculation experienced could be related to the difficulty in visual learning and the shortcomings thereof.
Superiority of Indian Abacus
Abstract numbers are converted to concrete images/pictures which helps children to
understand numbers, number concepts and
basic operations easily.
How abacus works
Arithmetic computation using Abacus
The Child works on Physical Abacusfor a period of 6 months
after which
The abacus is internalized (image of ABACUS)
and computation is thereafter done by
Visualization
Why Abacus mental arithmetic• Mental Arithmetic by image of Abacus enables to
compute at a speed which can be compared to that of Maths geniuses and child prodigies.
• They are 6 times more faster than NON ABACUS learners.
• This is apart from the important skills that the program enables.
SKILLS DEVELOPED Concentration
Alertness
Creativity
Self reliance /Self confidence
These are the very basic skills mostly needed in children to
excel in their Academic Performance.

Left & Right Brain Functions
• Calculations done with Abacus, using the fingers of both the hands stimulate the brain – both the Right and Left Brain.
• Whole brain Development enables the children excel in their studies, Life-time situations.
• Right Brain is the Seat of Intelligence and the Left Brain is the store house of information and the knowledge.
• Right Brain stimulation makes the child develop the faculties of brain such as Visualization, Imagination, Creativity and the related skills.
• Left brain and Right Brain Co-ordinated working results in Whole Brain Development.
Left & Right Brain Functions
Benefits the children:
1. In learning the NUMBERS and their RELATIONS
2. In learning to do Calculations easily – Very fast & Accurate – fast enough to beat the speed of the Calculator
Also benefits the children by:
Enhancing the Attention span of them and Concentration Skills significantly
Enhancing their Visualization skills (Recalling the images – of objects and the situations)
Enhancing their Listening skills.
Summarizing and Estimation skills
Children also gain:
Self-Confidence
Presentation Skills
Creative abilities
All the skills gained –ENHANCE THEIR
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
PROGRESSIVE PHASES IN SKILL DEVELOPMENT
COGNITIVE
Learning to work on ABACUS for arithmetic computation
Children are taught
Sitting posture, Holding of Abacus &
Moving Sliders with specific fingers
ACCEPTANCE
Understanding the rules & following the steps.
PRACTICE
Once the rules are learnt, practice is done
for long periods following the rules. Adherence to rules enables child to compute correctly and with speed.
Errors are identified and corrected by the instructors.
PROFICIENCY:
Attaining speed & accuracy by prolonged practice
With repeated practice child attains proficiency.
Mistakes could occur, but the same will be identified by the child itself and rectified.
Student attains high speed in computation.
Auto Phase
Mental Arithmetic Computation without effort and time
The movements are automatic and optimum speed is attained.
EXPRESSION
Expressing own ideas
Student tries out different methods to arrive at solution
The Program therefore ADDs
GREAT VALUEas the SKILLS AID & STRENGTHEN their
PERCEPTION, COMPREHENSION,
IMAGE MEMORY &
THEIR APPLICATION SKILLS
Program Details & Duration:
Total Levels - EIGHT
Each Level - 3 months
Each Month - 4 Classes ( 2 hours each)
Home Practice - 10 Minutes every day
Certification - for each level completion
