Independent Heat Transfer Systems for Dye-sublimation onto Textiles via Transfer Paper 1
Fixing images onto textiles can be achieved by using:• Flat heat presses for T-shirts.• Integrated transfer systems for direct-to-fabric printing
(the system is attached to the printer and uses dry heat or hot cylinders). The most sophisticated ones have a sticky belt.
• Roll-to-roll heat transfer systems for transfer paper.• Flatbed heat transfer systems, basically a roll to table
system with a take-up roll at the end.
Introduction
For dye sublimation wide-format printing you can use different heat transfer systems: roll-to-roll or flatbed. This report covers roll-to-roll heating units which can be used to transfer images printed on transfer paper to the fab-ric or sometimes to fix the color after printing directly onto the fabric.
Some brands use heated cylinders for this process, others use self contained oil cylinders for even temperature and lower electricity consumption. Usually the temperature used to fix the color or transfer images is 220˚C.
On the next pages you will find the mayor manufacturers of roll-to-roll heat transfer systems for dye sublimation.
