Public Comment – summarized input
As a public record of what J. Goldsmith said about the un-used rail line. The group heard her say pretty emphatically that none of our target industries – companies with 35 to a max of 50 employees would ever be of the size to require rail service. Her example of numbers of pallets an industry would have to be shipping to use rail vs truck was pretty convincing.
While I respect the committee’s decision to not let the Friends of the Ecusta Trail present to the group at this time, I still think we have some knowledge to share that would be helpful.
On January 9, 2014, 7 pm, at the Community Services Building, Mr. Ned Doyle will present: “Clean Energy for TC”, examining the ways we as a community can get involved in a regional effort to bring solar power to the Mountains

Tomorrow – one possible vision
Numerous small businesses have been established in Transylvania County to add to successful current businesses.
This has resulted in net job growth and a growing per capita income compared with 2013 data.
Families are thriving and young citizens are finding great reasons to stay or return.
Baby boomers continue to retire here with wonderful outlets to enjoy life and make a difference
Our diverse arts and recreation culture is even better supported with the stronger economy
