Steps followed for the participation: The objective of the programme was made clear to the students of

age group 10-12 years. Brain storming session between students and teachers. Suggested activities were invited from the students Possible methods of implementation and probable success rate for

each of them discussed Final selection of the activity to be carried out Formation of group ( a mentor and 5 students) Sending circular Collection of consent forms from the students Contact with the Redcross Society, Ahmedabad Visit to a hospital for gathering information about the entire process

of separate components of blood and about the blood related complications

Organizing Blood Donation Camp

Objectives:- To bring awareness about genetically inherited

diseases related to blood like thalesemia and haemophilia.

To overcome the shortage of blood for the victims in need of immediate transfusion ( like accidents, surgeries, patients of thalesemia or haemophilia,cancer patient, kidney diseases)

To bring an awareness for blood donation by removing misconceptions related to blood transfusion

Some common misconceptions among people about blood donation: A blood donor feels very weak One gets affected by different diseases if

donates blood Ladies must not donate blood One looses the amount of donated blood

forever It is unsafe to give away blood
