October has started with a real bang as the committee and Londoloza have worked solidly to
ensure a smooth changeover and the safety of our beautiful suburb. We would like to thank you
all for your support during the last few weeks. It has been a challenging time for everyone but
with your help and support we can and are making a difference.
Londoloza has definitely taken the concept of proactivity to heart, they have been investigating
and dealing with vagrants in the area, increased visibility and patrolling beyond what we have
contracted for and even arranged a team to remove litter from the greenbelt. They are making an
active effort to get crime out of Sundowner.
The SRA would love your input in the newsletter and welcomes any announcements you may have
for the residents, provided the announcements are specific to Sundowner and contribute to the
upliftment of the community. All comments must be sent to Anne by the 25th of the month.

Make your contribution, make the difference, we all need and rely on each other
Due to the admin office being flooded with paper work with the changeover from SOS to Londoloza, we have not had time to put together an incident report for September. Next month’s newsletter will therefore have a report of incidents from September and October. We ask for your patience and understanding in this regard.
The changeover from SOS to Londoloza has been very
smooth and successful. The SRA Committee would like
to the thank Anne Koppenaal and Londoloza for their
hard work over the last few weeks. Londoloza changed
288 transmitters in three weeks. They managed this
process with extremely short notice. We would like to
thank Londoloza for the professionalism and
enthusiasm with which they have approached this
rather mammoth task. The feedback from residents has
been very positive. We would also like to thank all the
residents for your support and for opening your homes
to Londoloza.

Fire Safety Tips for Children
Have a designated person to help young children and others who might have difficulty escaping.
SRA Office Tel No. 011 795 2103 Londoloza Emergency Tel No. 0861 566 365
Plan and practice escape routes out of each room in the house. It is important to have an alternate escape route in case one is blocked by fire. Remember to keep this easy and take children into consideration when planning your route.
Practice fire drills often. There is a higher risk of residential fires occurring during the winter months as the use of heaters etc.
In the case of a fire, teach children to get outside quickly and crawl low if there is smoke. Teach children that if their clothes catch fire, they should immediately stop, drop to the ground and roll themselves back and forth quickly to extinguish the flames.
Establish a “Kid-Free Zone” around fireplaces, including gas fireplaces, and wood burning stoves.
Keep children away from cooking and heating appliances. Never leave the kitchen while cooking and never leave a child alone in the kitchen while cooking.
Teach children to never touch or play with matches, candles, petrol or lighters. Keep items such as these out of their reach and locked away
As you have no doubt noticed there are extensive
renovations taking place at the Shell Garage on Taurus road.
The SRA has been advised that the planned completion date
for all renovations is March 2014. As soon as we have more
information on what is to come we will advise you
accordingly.
“Adrian from Londoloza changed the transmitter at our home this morning, so we are up and running on the Londoloza system. Adrian was very friendly and his work fast and efficient. It is indeed a great start to a relationship with a new security company! Well done Londoloza for good technical work so far!” – Mimi
“Firstly, I must congratulate Londoloza for the most
impressive manner in which the transition from the
previous security company has taken place. Thumbs up
to all parties concerned!”
