In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?
Masthead
I followed the convention of ID’s masthead, I called my magazine F M as it link to music, an Fashion and Music starts with F and M. Also my target audience is young
male sand females so F and M
Cover Photo
My cover photo follow the conventions of ID’s genre. The Photo is a striking image drawing your eye to it, allowing me not to have many
cover lines.
Cover lines
My magazine has a strong striking image on the front, so conventionally there will only be a
small amount of cover lines not take away the cover photos purpose. My cover lines follow the convention telling the reader what is inside the
magazine, so my magazine will appeal to the target audience.
Kicker
The kicker I have used is a small bit of information about the article persuading people to read further on
ion the article.
Columns
I followed the convention of my main article in columns. Using 3 columns is convention for music an fashion magazines. Reading in columns make it easier to read, including
when you’re traveling.
White space
The whit space I used for my contents page is unconventional as the white space either side of the
image is different.
Colour
Not using much colour in my magazine is unconventional for a fashion magazine, however the colours that I did use where to draw the eye of the
reader and attract the audience to it.
Multimedia platforms
Having my Magazine on multimedia platforms is conventional. As many of my target audience will use the internet daily, allowing them to visit the
web-site of the company.
Social media
Having social network links on my magazine is conventional as my target audience will use these allowing to the visit the what has been put in the
magazine.
Font
The font that I have used in my magazine is conventional as it looks good and is easy to read.
