"HIIIfll Waimea" (hula 'iila'apapa) ''Waimea fashions a net with the K.Ipu'upu'u wind" K.amehameha's warriors named themselves after the icy cold, stinging wind and rain of Waimea, Kipu'upu'u This mele hula describes one of the many battles that Kamehameha's warriors engaged in on their mission to unite the Hawaiian islands under one rule. "Eia Hawai'i" (hula kilu) "Here is Hawai • i, an island, a man ... " The pfiniu, coconut knee drum, is used to accompany the dancers as they share a mo'ok:ii'auhau for the descendents ofKah:iko and Kupulanakehau
