What causes night and day? Well, as you mayknow the Earth spins on an axis and completesthis rotation in 24 hours. As the Earth spins, adifferent part of the Earth faces the sunlight

which means the other side of Earth is awayfrom the sunlight. It is the Earth that moves,not the sun. This is why many countries havedifferent time zones, unless the countriesshare the same longitude.



A shadow is a dark patch created because anobject is in the way of light. Shadows areformed when the light hits an object - the lightcannot go through the object and so an outline

of the object is created. Inside the outline is adark patch created because the light is coveredby the object.

I investigated shadows by shining a torch on asunscreen bottle. I found out that if the torchwas closer to the object, the shadow was largerbut as I pulled the torch away from the object,

the shadow got smaller.



That is because when the light is closer to theobject, more light is covered by the object, butwhen the light is away from the object theshadow is smaller because less light is being

covered. When you shine the torch on theobject in a different angle, usually the shadowis a different shape



Where the grass is always greenerand you can enjoy a breath of fresh air.

Space is a place full of mysteries and the question is should we spend millions of dollars to explore space.

What we have found out about space is amazing but there are still things out therethat we have no idea about. We should spend more money research about areNeighbors and surroundings.

We all know that space on are planet, Earth is running out and so we must search for

a new home. There may be one out there but if we do not even try, we will have nohope at all to find one at all.

NASA has already stopped blasting space shuttles into space. We must make surethat other countries like Russia do not follow NASA or we may never learn anythingelse about space.

We must learn more about space or something disastrous might happen like a bigmeteor might crash into the Earth and do serious damage.

I believe that we should spend more money to research space for these reasons andmany more and I try to persuade you to believe that we should spend more money toresearch on space.



Comets are big chunks of ice, dust and rock that soar

around in space. Comets have a huge distance from the sun

and so they stay solid. As they come closer to the sun, it is

then they start to form tails. Sometimes they get pull

towards the planets and becomes the planet’s Satellite

(Moon). Each comet is different in size and shape. New

comets are discovered every year. All comets have different

orbital periods. Halley’s Comet has period of 76 years.

Comets are believed to have come from a cloud, just out of

Pluto’s orbit called the Oort comet cloud.
