THE STORY & LIFE OF MELVIN DEAN SUBER, SR.

SUNRISE... Melvin Dean Suber, Sr. was born on April 19, 1940. He was a cherished blessing, born to his parents Lawyer and Mattie Suber (nee Tucker); and lived with all of his many brothers and sisters: Lawyer Suber, Jr., Orson Suber, Sadie Fillyaw (nee Suber), Harriett Sims (nee Suber), Carolyn Mayfield (nee Suber), Ira Williams (nee Suber), and Minnie Pearl Griffin (nee Suber).

A LIFE WELL SPENT... When he became of age, he left home and moved to the big city of New York to live with his eldest brother. While there, he worked and retired after thirty years with the United Parcel Service (UPS). While living in New York, he met the love of his life, Danielle Felicia Nobles. They have been inseparable ever since, along with having and raising his children. He then moved his family back to his hometown of Carlisle, SC, so that he could be closer to his mother and returned to his family church at James Chapel Baptist Church.

SUNSET... On May 7, 2020, Melvin Suber Sr. was called into his eternal home. He was a loving husband, father, and for anyone else who had known him. He would give up the shirt on his back to help you. He was an ever-devoted Trustee and Deacon of James Chapel Baptist Church.

THOSE WHO REMAIN... Melvin Suber Sr. leaves to cherish fond memories his loving and devoted wife, Danielle Felicia Nobles Suber of the home; daughter, Saisha Suber of Lyman, SC; son, Melvin Dean (Katrina) Suber, Jr. of West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Julien Brice, Martin Charles II, and Micah Charles; brothers and sisters, Orson (Carolyn) Suber of Queens, NY, Sadie Fillyaw, Harriett Sims, Carolyn Mayfield, Ira Williams, and Minnie Pearl Griffin all of Carlisle, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.

“And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”

- St. John 16:22

A LETTER TO MY DADDY Dear Daddy, I would be lying if I said

that you were just a father to me. You are my supporter, mentor, coach and first love. Death may have taken you away but in my heart you will always

be. Now I realized the lessons you have taught me. Since Thursday morning

when I came to hold your hand, I have been numb from within. Daddy you were more than a father. You were

what no one else could be. Days and years may go by but my hero you will forever be. Thank you for sacrificing it all; always living for us providing and protecting in every way. I am lost and

dazed as life goes on and miss you now more than ever. The pain inside me is bursting at the seams. I have wished for a lot of things all my life up until

now, but my thoughts have change. All I want is the man whose arms I grew

up in. Nobody will understand the bro-ken heart I feel being your little girl.

While the initial wound goes away the scars and bruises stay forever. I am

thankful for the 32 years I had with you and thank you for always believing in me. We will honor you and hold you

dear to our hearts. Looking just beyond the rainbow to your heavenly home I

know you are free.

Love always, Saisha Gabrielle Suber, “Daddy’s Girl”
