2 BEYONCÉ’S SHOES
Here at En Vie we are all incredibly excited by the recent announcement that Giuseppe Zanotti and Beyoncé Knowles have teamed up to design a shoe which will be released in just a couple of weeks! Obviously this is no ballet flat we’re talking about here, according to sources the shoe will be an ultra-thick platform with a stiletto heel. Beyoncé has had a huge input, with Zanotti stating to Forbes that she ‘has very clear ideas – she knows exactly what she wants.’ So if you want to feel like Beyoncé put on Crazy In Love, strap on this fabulous sounding sandal and shake that booty!
3 BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN
It would appear that Kim Kardashian has started to believe the age-old adage that blondes have more fun quite literally as she has bleached her hair a peroxide blonde. Whilst she looks stunning, one has to wonder what this is doing to her hair as she has already bleached it 3 times in 3 weeks? Will Kim be able to put up with the high maintenance that a bleached blonde do requires? Well, she’s pretty high maintenance with her looks in general, so probably. But could you? Has she inspired you to go all out bleach blonde this spring?
4 COACHELLA
The annual fashionista festival, Coachella, is nearly upon us once again. This festival is the perfect place to show off your bohemian or rock chick credentials with celebrities, models and normal festival goers putting on a good show for each camp. So will your spring wardrobe contain some Coachella inspired pieces? The savvy fashionista will use Coachella to spy what’s going to be hot come the summer music festival scene, so keep your eyes out and ears to the ground. The next big thing could be just around the corner.

Speaking of colour, have we talked about one specific area of the face yet? We all seem to go crazy for that sun-kissed bronzed look, but I think we all underestimate the power a pink glow gives. Yes, we are talking about blush. Mauve, pink, red, orange; varying in shade but all giving the same pinched-cheeks effect that we so admire.
What else gives you a cuter, youthful look? That’s right! Pink lips. When you feel like your makeup isn't doing you justice that day, or there isn't enough oomph in your look, this fun trend is something that we shouldn't be afraid to embrace. A lovely pink lip whether petal pink, Barbie pink, rose tinted or so many other shades make anyone happy and adds that something special to your makeup.
..., it's a lovely way to add more colour to any
make up routine.

Flowing water. A young woman’s blouse clings to her: wet, heavy, and cool. Summer heat. The low afternoon sun. Tiny hairs framing
her face in a fleeting breeze catch the sunlight. Her face remains forever intense and strong in a single moment in time when the photographer pushed the shutter button. Perhaps a second before, she was smiling. Or the wind died down. Or perhaps a cloud blocked out the sun. But in this photograph, a perfect single moment has been captured for eternity. It cannot and will never be reproduced. For that is the beauty of photography.
As all artists know, light and shadow are crucial for creating a beautiful image. For photographer Yasunari Yanagino, the balance of these elements seems to come naturally. Playing with light and shadow, Yanagino’s portraits capture the personality and raw feeling of each subject. Originally Yanagino wanted to become a painter, but he just couldn’t get into the design aspect of it.
One fateful day, his wife took him to view a Jeanloup Sieff exhibit. Sieff’s powerful black and white photos inspired Yanagino, sparking his interest in photography and his path to a career as a photographer at the age of 22. After a briefly studying in New York at the ICP (International Center of Photography), Yanagino returned to Japan to continue his journey in photography. Yanagino is currently working on setting up his own studio in Osaka. Although most of his jobs recently are wedding photography, he enjoys taking photos in his own style in his free time. Whether in the studio or outdoors, Yanagino’s photos are a style of his own.

We are often reminded about the importance of sleep, and yet we constantly ignore the endless supply of advice.
Sleepwear is one of those elements in fashion that is often overlooked. Comfort is of the utmost importance. Unwinding after a day at work in our hectic world is difficult. We don’t have the time for an elaborate relaxation routine.
Wearing sleepwear that is comfortable and luxurious quickens the relaxing and encourages a generally tranquil mindset, allowing us to be more productive. Eight Hour Studio combines comfort and hand wood block printing with organic, satin finish cotton, creating luxurious sleepwear that is anything but ordinary. Their inspiration for their designs originates from traditional Indian woodblock printing methods with an added western flair.
Founder of the company, Sonia Padam and her husband dreamed of an enterprise in which their multicultural heritage was echoed. Based in the UK, they were born in Zambia and India then grew up in Zambia, the UK and Australia. Eight Hour Studio considers a balanced day one that is divided into eight hours of working, resting and playing. While their initial collection focuses on the resting element, they aspire to create collections centered around work and play as well. Using socially responsible and environmentally aware partners they have created an enterprise that highlights the company’s high standards for quality.
Conscious fashion is an ever-growing concern and each time a company makes the choice to be aware, the consumer then becomes aware. The ripple effect will affect generations to come in such a positive way. While conscious fashion usually includes a staggering price tag, Eight Hour Studio provides a very reasonable price range with artisan quality. These pajamas are serene and make you feel like you are on holiday. Keep a watchful eye on this up and coming company. They are definitely on the rise.

The line snaked around the block. Although it was pouring rain and freezing, girls were
sporting mini-skirts and short denim shorts sans tights, all in the name of fashion! The doors opened and the audience poured into the building. Attendees were literally climbing over chairs to get the best seats. The room abuzz, the lights dimmed and the stage lit up with brilliant LED lights and booming music. This Kobe Collection's theme was "Light Up, Town Girl," and the event was indeed bright and youthful.
For those of you who have never heard of the event, Kobe Collection features ready-to-wear casual fashion for young women. The opening brand, RICH, featured romantic floral prints, cutout lace, pastels, chiffon, and fresh floral hair decorations. Other brands such as VICKY and Mercury Duo
also kept the pastel theme, adding stripes to the mix. Across all brands, knee-length hemlines and A-line 50s inspired skirts were popular items. The show was like an ode to fashion icon Audrey Hepburn, featuring A-line skirts, crisp blouses, chic sundresses, and heels with socks. Straw hats were also prominent, especially panama
and boater hats.
In a totally different stream, there were brands
Kawi Jamele and BOY LONDON playing with the 90’s inspired grunge/athletic style, bringing to the stage 90’s staples like sweat pants, graphic printed tees, choker necklaces, and the iconic Lennon-inspired sunglasses. In addition to multiple brands’ fashion shows, the event also had a variety of booths: gel nails, hair styling, make-up advice and more. For more information, go to: www.kobe-collection.com.
