Good Part
The world of rst part = good part always poses new challenges. In this environment, the goal is process stability to be able to further reduce lot sizes, with certainty that the rst part produced will be usable. The importance of meeting this demand is growing, particularly within elds where long machining processes are required for costly components. These are the exact applications the MT 733-series is designed for.

We have identied complete machining as a key technology that is synonymous with successful and innovative manufacturing solutions across many manufacturing segments. We embarked on the complete machining path in 1997, with our STAMA MT technology delivering a worldwide production evolution, if not revolution. The MT 733-series sets yet another groundbreaking milestone in the world of complete machining solutions.

With the diverse requirements and changing pace of today’s manufacturing, we’re often unable to foresee the applications ahead. Hence, it will certainly be one of the key challenges for us in the machining industry to make our manufacturing processes even more exible. Simultaneously we need to boost our productivity to provide the highest work piece quality and signicantly reduce the cost per part.
Whether the current demand requires focused, high-volume production; or if implementing a exible, adaptive solution is the necessary approach – both capabilities are equally important. Our MT 733-series centers are designed to completely reconcile the conict between highly exible and fully productive.

Highly precise transfer means
reduced ancillary time
The rst ve sides of the work piece have been machined in OP10. When machining sides two-to-six in OP20, optimized cycles synchronize the rotation location of the two rotating turning spindles, and accelerate the highly precise transfer from OP10 to OP20. Cycles are also used to actuate the exact contact pressure required in order to grab and clamp the component in the X-axis gantry system. Part cut-o occurs in the Z or Y direction.

The automatic work piece infeed and output is a standard feature. Regardless of whether machining from bar, bar segment, a semi-nished component or a cast part – all MT 733-series models can handle “either/or” (i.e. they are compatible with both, bar or chuck components). The MT 733 one, one plus and two plus are also capable of “either/and” (i.e. doing both at the same time). All automation concepts give the operator complete frontal access to the work space.

Galaxie® is the new drive concept of the MT 733-series utilized in the B-axis. Distinctive features of the fundamentally new drive kinematics include zero clearance, optimum synchronous accuracy, a high level of overload capability and extremely high repeatability. Rigid gearwheels have been replaced by individual thrust cogs with full surface multi-tooth meshing. The Galaxie® drive also boasts outstanding long-term precision, since it is backlash free throughout its lifecycle. The combination of all of these features oers new options for powerful simultaneous 5-axis machining across numerous sectors.
