CLD Guidance & Inspection• What we know so far from 143 Learning

Community Inspections• Impact on young people or adults is good or

better in 80% of inspections• Impact on the community is good or better in

82% of inspections• Improvements in performance presents

Improving ScottishWhat should we look at in future?

• Proportionate and risk assessment based approach– why continue to focus on the three practice areas when we

know they are strong? – holistic view of impact to allow more time to report on other

areas– Closer look at Partnerships & CPD

• Inspection needs to add value and support improvement – greater focus on 1.1 and 5.10– Move away from silo approach as in WALT– Curriculum for Excellence

Strategic Guidance We expect CPPs to:• Ensure that systematic assessments of

community needs and strengths provide the basis for SOAs and service strategies and plans.

• Ensure this assessment is based on engagement and continued dialogue with communities, utilising CLD expertise, as well as on analysis of other data.

• Review current partnership arrangements for planning, monitoring and evaluating CLD and ensure that they are fit for the purposes set out in this Guidance.
