UNIT 9 EVALUATION

WILDLIFE I decided to focus my exhibition on

wildlife photography. I chose this topic because when I was taking my practice photos, I found there are a lot of aspects of wildlife in many places, so there are lots of chances to take good photos.

INSPIRATION My inspiration came from the wildlife

photography on the National Geographic website and photographers like John Halvorson and Massimo Gugliucciello, whose work is shown below.

EQUIPMENT & EDITING I used a Canon EOS 1100D Digital SLR

Camera to take my photos. I edited my images in Photoshop. I learnt a new skill using a complex digital

camera, and I learnt a lot about using filters and changing colours in Photoshop.

EDITING

To edit this photo, I used the quick selection tool to select one flower at a time, then experimented with the hue/saturation tool to change the colours of them. I also colorized the photo and used the hue/saturation on the entire image to make it brighter and bring out the colours more.

EDITING

This photo didn’t need much editing; I only colorized it and changed the hue and saturation to a different colour.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES I think my images are good because I like

the use of colours in them, but I could have used more complex editing techniques on some of them; to accomplish this I will learn how to use these tools if I were to do this project again. But overall I am pleased with my project because I learned new photography and Photoshop skills and did better than I thought I would.

FEEDBACK REVIEW 2/3 people liked this image the best. They liked these images the least. I think this might

be because they are the most simple with the least editing, so if I were to do this project again I will try to take and edit more complex photos.

Everybody said that they liked the topic and my images suit it well, and that my editing was effective so I am happy with this.

The suggestions for improvement were that I could change the layout of my images and make them fill more space, so I would consider this if I did this again.
