Umbrella Studio invites you to

Impressions of OZ MAXINE SMITH An Access Space exhibition of wall hangings using hand painted and screen printed silks collaged to depict impressions of Australia.

“The impression of passing through the landscape leaves little room for detail and when I look at the colours and patterns of Australia from the air or from the ground I find I visualise them in fabric and dye rather than canvas and paint. The light reflected by different threads lends itself to representing the different light and colour that occurs during the day, and also in the diverse environments of the outback, the rainforest, and the coast.”

EXHIBITION OPENING 7pm Friday 8 March by Gabriel Smith

UMBRELLA TALK 6pm Friday 8 March

EXHIBITION DURATION 8 March - 14 April 2013
