I am so proud and thrilled to say that this season is the exact opposite ! We have had a huge response in all areas of help from parents and this is so pleasing. It makes the day run so much smoother and allows our committee to take a breather too, and enjoy watching their children. So from the TTGLAC Committee a HUGE THANK YOU and let’s keep up the good work throughout the rest of the season. See page 2 for the next fortnights roster It’s that time of year when our relay selection committee are busy putting teams together ready for State Relay Championships. This is a great day for both Track and Field athletes to com- pete as a team and work collectively for the good of the club. Our relay coaches and selection committee have been going over teams and doing their best to give all nominated athletes a go, and to form teams that are best for the TTGLAC. These teams will be announced hopefully on Sunday. There will be information about training sessions, coaches and the day itself, attached to the child's selection letter. We hope that all athletes realise that by being chosen in ANY team, that they are a worthy part of a greater cause. If however your child doesn’t wish to partake in these Relay Championships for some reason, please let Jason Seymour, our recorder, or John Bos know ASAP, so we can organise a replacement. Emma is still coordinating our March Past outfits so stay tuned for that one!! Any parent's that know their way around a Janome - your skills would be greatly appreciated! Don't forget that Wednesday night’s trainings are in full swing! We have been getting a great turnout and would love to see more. For the older athletes we do offer some specialised train- ings so please refer to the website for coaches. We, as a Club, are very lucky to have quite an impressive list of past athletes and officials and we working to have them visit the club over a couple of weeks to provide some expertise training for the kids. This may not be until the New Year due to availability but stay tuned….. We have also had some feedback that some of the younger age groups are a little unsure of cer- tain events and their procedures. We aim to have coaches floating on any given Sunday, but sometimes, and without parent help, we don’t have spare committee and coaches. Over the coming weeks we will, as a committee, try really hard to get to those groups and offer some assistance. Our Tiny Tots have been very busy colouring in and thinking up a name for their new mascot . Some great entries have come in, but we would love more!! We will announce our competition winner and the winning name at our Christmas Breakup Party (refer back page). Speaking of which, our Christmas Breakup Party plans are in full swing with some fun stuff organised for the little ones, as well as the big ones!! Father Christmas has promised a visit so remember to be very very good! The weather looks like its going to be fabulous on Sunday so come out and enjoy! See you on the track, Jane Sternagel, TTGLAC President

RELAY TRAINING Track relay training will occur every Wednesday and Sunday upon announcement of the Relay Team. A schedule is included in the General T&F Training schedule available for download from the website: http://www.ttgathletics.com.au/la/downloads/TTGLAC%20T&F%20Training%20Schedule%202014-15.pdf Wednesday training will be divided into two sessions from 4:30pm - 5:15pm and from 5:15pm - 6:00pm. Athletes who can't make the 4:30pm start are welcome to attend the later session. Training on Sunday will occur upon completion of the competition meet and will be located along the back straight. We have four weeks to prepare for the Championship. The first two weeks will focus on general relay skills including baton changes and rules. After this coaches will work with specific age groups and will focus on teamwork. Additional training sessions may be organised subject to negotiation between team members and coaches. The training needs of those participating in the Field Relay will be addressed during the regular General Training sessions and in the final week prior to the Championship. Please make every effort to participate in training.

IGA STATE RELAY CHAMPS Sunday 14th December 2014

SA Athletics Stadium (formerly Santos Stadium) The IGA State Relay Champs is an Association Championship event open to teams from Little Athletics cen-tres from all over SA. (U9-U17). The teams are made up of track relays (4x 100m, 4x200m and medley) along with field relays (comprising Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put and Discus). Thankyou to all the athletes that have expressed interest. The teams are currently being compiled and will be available shortly. There is no entry fee associated with the State Relays; this is fully covered by the Centre. Relay Day is the first Association Championship event for the Track and Field Season, and a great opportunity for TTGLAC to show its camaraderie and team spirit. Emma is organising our theme and potential ‘costumes’ to wear for the opening march so this should be fun!! Any parent's that know their way around a Janome - your skills would be greatly appreciated - just approach Jane, Emma or leave a note in the canteen and we’ll hook you up with some fabric and thread !
