PREFACE
Decree (Act) No. 2 of 1978 (amended by Decree (Act) No. 33 of 1989)
empowers the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board among others
to:
(i) conduct Matriculation Examination for entry into all
Degree-awarding, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Innovative Enterprise
Institutes and Colleges
of Education in Nigeria;
(ii) place suitably qualified candidates in the available places in
the institutions.
The Board conducted the first matriculation examination for entry
into all Degree-awarding, Institutions in 1979, Polytechnics and
Colleges of Education in 1991,
Monotechnics in 1998 and Innovative Enterprises Institutes in 2009
in Nigeria. In reaching out to applicants, the Board publishes
essential information/ guidelines
in the Brochure. The Brochure provides applicants with detailed
information on Courses and programmes with their entry requirements
leading to the award of
First Degree, National Diploma, National Innovation Diploma and
Nigeria Certificate in Education in Tertiary Institutions in
Nigeria. The Brochure also contains
useful information on the method of completing the application
documents, mode of admissions and the expectations from candidates
on the day of the
examination.
This is the Seventh (7th) edition for the Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates are advised to study
this Brochure thoroughly before
completing their application documents. It is hoped that candidates
will derive maximum benefits from this document.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTORY NOTE
1.0.00 In this Brochure, detailed information on how to complete
the Direct Entry (DE) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination (UTME) application forms has
been provided. Candidates are advised to read carefully the
instructions and information provided herein before filling the
Application forms.
1.0.01 IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE Candidates should note the
following: 1. The guidelines and instructions provided in this
Brochure will assist candidates in selecting appropriate
institutions and courses and in completing the
application forms properly. The Board will not process any form
completed without adhering to the instructions and regulations set
out in this booklet. 2. A candidate must have completed or about to
complete a full course of training in a Secondary School, Technical
College, Teacher Training College or an
approved institution of equivalent status. 3. A candidate must have
attained the age of sixteen years (16) or would have done so on the
first day of October in the year of his/her candidature. 4. UTME
candidates must write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination and attain an acceptable standard in the examination
for entry into the course of
his/her choice. 5. UTME candidates are advised to use the current
syllabus. Past question papers on the examination are available for
a fee at the National Headquarters,
Headquarters Annexes, Zonal and State Offices of the Board. 6.
Candidates who submit more than one set of application forms will
be disqualified. 7. Apart from the notification of results, the
Board will not enter into correspondence regarding candidates’
performance at the UTME or failure of placement of
candidates. 8. The Board reserves the right to withdraw, at any
time any result released to candidates or admission offers made, if
it is discovered that the candidate cheated
at the examination or gave the Board false, incomplete or
misleading information.

9. Candidates should note that the Board is free to place high
scoring candidates into institutions other than their preferred
choices. 10. Any candidate whose scores are low for their chosen
courses/institutions could approach other institutions and/or
departments for consideration. Such
consideration would normally be given after such institutions had
taken care of candidates who made such courses either their first
or second choice and other high scoring candidates.
1.0.02. UTME SUBJECTS (EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS)
For a candidate to be offered admission into 100 level of the
chosen course in any of the Institutions, he/she must obtain an
acceptable level of performance at the Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination (UTME) in subjects RELEVANT to the
proposed course/programme of study. The UTME subjects which are
mandatory for the respective courses are set out in this Section of
the Tables in this Brochure. All candidates are to note that "Use
of English" is mandatory for all courses and has therefore been
excluded from the Tables to avoid unnecessary repetition.
1.0.03. INFORMATION ON ADMISSION GUIDELINES 1. The proprietor of
each institution provides the Board with guidelines to be adopted
in selecting candidates for the respective institutions. For
Federal
institutions, the Federal Government stipulates that a percentage
of the candidates should be selected on merit, another percentage
on catchment/locality which in most cases is the geographical or
socio-cultural area contiguous to the institution. A proportion is
also reserved for candidates from educationally less developed
states.
2. Candidates are advised to study this Section and the Section on
Remarks/Waiver before Selecting Courses
1.0.04 GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS In addition to the specific entry
requirements into each Institution, faculty or department, the
following are the general entry requirements approved for
admission into first degree courses for both UTME and Direct Entry
candidates. 1 Applicants must write the Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attain an acceptable standard
in the Use of English (Compulsory) and
three subjects relevant to the proposed course of study as set out
in the relevant Chapters of this Brochure. 2 Candidate must in
addition to attaining an acceptable standard in the Unified
Tertiary Matriculation Examination obtain one of the following
qualifications.
(a) National Examinations Council (NECO)/ West African Examinations
Council (WAEC) Senior School Certificate (SSC) or the School
Certificate/General Certificate of Education (SSC/GCE ) or
equivalents with credit passes in Five (5) subjects relevant to the
course and obtained at not more than two sittings; except where
otherwise specified.

(b) Grade II Teacher's Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit
passes in at least Five (5) subjects. PLEASE NOTE THAT TC II IS NOT
ACCEPTABLE FOR SOME COURSES IN SOME UNIVERSITIES.
(c) National Technical Certificate (NTC), National Business
Certificate (NBC) with credit passes in Five (5) subjects relevant
to the course and obtained at not
more than two sittings. For the purpose of NTC/NBC, a credit in any
General Education subjects, trade related subjects and trade
component subjects is equivalent to a credit in a subject.
3. A credit pass in Mathematics is required for all Science based
and Social Science courses except where it is stated otherwise. 4.
A credit pass in English Language is required for all courses
except where it is stated otherwise. 5 Please note that a
matriculated student in any University is not eligible to sit for
the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) except those
who
are transferring from foreign Universities. 1.0.05 Entry by Direct
Application (DE) (2/3/4/5 - year degree programme).
1. Applicants with one of the following qualifications may be
considered for admission by Direct entry:- (a) A minimum of five
(5) subjects passed at not more than two sittings with at least two
at the Principal or Advanced level of the G.C.E. and the others, at
credit
level of the SSC/GCE , NTC/NBC. No subject shall be counted at both
Ordinary and Advanced levels. (b) Passes in two major subjects in
the NCE with S.S.C.E , NTC/NBC credits or equivalents in THREE
other subjects (mainly for Education Courses). Education may
be accepted as a third A/Level subject for those taking courses in
Education (c) Two passes at the IJMB examination or Cambridge
moderated Schools of Basic Studies terminal examination or
International Baccalaurate from recognised
institutions with SSCE/GCE , NTC/NBC credits or equivalent in three
other subjects (SUBJECT TO UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS).
1.0.06 Entry into the Examination Hall
A Candidate must write the examination in the town and centre to
which he/she is assigned by the Board, as indicated on his/her
e-registration Slip. Any candidate who reports elsewhere for the
examination WILL NOT HAVE RESULTS.
B Candidates will be allowed entry into the examination hall on the
presentation of the following:
(i) Original receipt for the purchase of the Scratch card for
registration and; (ii) E-Registration Slip
1.0.07 Visually impaired Candidates
Visually impaired candidates must write the examination at their
Examination Centres.
1.0.08 Conduct During Examination

A. Candidate should not carry any other paper or books except
his/her e-Registration Slip and receipt of purchase of application
document Pencil, Calculator, eraser and sharpeners will be provided
by the Board The e-Registration Slip must be surrendered to the
Invigilator before the end of the examination.
B. Mobile phone must NOT be brought into the examination hall/room.
C. Candidate should not attempt to obtain undue assistance from the
invigilator and should not communicate with other candidates or any
person. D . All rough work should be done on the blank spaces
provided in the question paper booklet.
E. Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination room without
the permission of the Invigilator.
F. Candidates, while in the venue of the examination and
particularly the halls/rooms must be orderly.
G. Any candidate leaving the room before the end of the examination
for any reason whatsoever, must leave his/her question paper and
answer sheet in the
examination room. 1.0.09 Rules and Regulations for Dealing with
Cases of Irregularities during the Board’s Examination. The
following decisions of the Board are reproduced for the benefit of
candidates. A. Bringing In Foreign Materials
Where a candidate commits an offence such as bringing in textbooks,
prepared materials or any other material such as mobile phones or
plain sheets of paper,
the candidate’s results for the entire examination shall be
cancelled. B. Irregular Activities Inside or Outside the
Examination Hall
Where a candidate is involved in any of the offences listed below,
either inside or outside the examination hall, the candidate's
results for the entire examination
shall be cancelled. The offences are:
(a) Leaving the examination hall/premises without the permission of
the invigilator; (b) Substituting worked script during or after the
examination (c) Leaving the examination hall/premises with the
question papers before the end of the examination; (d) Leaving the
examination hall/premises with the answer sheet; (e) Stealing,
converting or misappropriating the scripts of other candidates; (f)
collusion with others or other irregular activities pertaining to
examination before, during and after the examination.

C. Impersonation
Where a person is caught or found impersonating a candidate, the
entire results of the person being impersonated and those of the
impersonator if he/she is also a candidate for the examination,
shall be cancelled.
D. Leakage
Where cases of leakage are established in a centre/town, the
results of candidates proved to have benefitted from the leakage
shall be cancelled while those
of candidates not proved to have benefitted from the leakage shall
be released. E Widespread Cheating
(i) Where there are established cases of widespread
cheating/collusion in a centre, the results of all the candidates
in the centre shall be cancelled.
(ii) Where widespread cheating has been established, the following
shall apply:
(a) In the case of schools used as centres, if it is established
that the authorities of the schools condoned, connived or
encouraged the mass cheating/collusion,
the Principal of that school shall be reported to his employers;
(b) In the case of paid invigilators/supervisors, the Board shall
take appropriate action.
F. Insult/Assault on Supervisors/Invigilators
Where a candidate or his agent insults or assaults a
supervisor/invigilator in the lawful performance of his duties
inside or outside the examination hall, or in any
other way disturbs the conduct of the examination, the result of
the candidate shall be cancelled.
1.0.10 EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES DECREE (ACT) NO. 33 0F 1999
The Board hereby reproduces below, for the benefit of Candidates,
Invigilators, Supervisors, and Members of the public, the offences
under Decree 33 of 1999. 1. Cheating at examination
2. Stealing etc of question papers
3. Personation
8. Forgery of result slip etc.
9. Breach of Duty
10. Conspiracy, aiding etc
11. Conviction for alternative offence
12. Offences by bodies corporate
The Act has created a number of punishments for the above offences.
The Board would therefore invoke the stiff penalties for person(s)
found guilty of offences under this Act.

A limited number of good first degree holders who have completed
the National Youth Service Corps Programmed may be accepted by some

Regulations governing admission into First Degree programmes in
Benson Idahosa University are as follows: ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: 1. At
least five SSCE/NECO/GCE 'O' level credits at not more than two
sittings. 2. Degree of University recognised by Senate of the

(a) Accepts National Diploma plus UTME requirements for all Direct
Entry Admissions.

i. Literature in English Language is not a requirement for graduate

2.2.04 OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY, ILE-IFE
(a) The University does not accept a pass in English Language for
admission to any programme. However it accepts Teacher Grade II (TC
II) for B.A. Educ/B.Ed degree only.
(b) A pass in the General Paper at the Principal Level of the
Higher School Certificate is regarded as equivalent to an Ordinary
Level credit pass in English Language. (c) For Direct Entry.
(i) OAU requires a minimum of three A/Level Science subjects as
indicated. OND/HND ( Upper Credit) as indicated in appropriate
cases for candidates seeking
admission into the Faculties of Environmental Design and
Management, Health Science, Pharmacy and Technology.

(ii) For Admission into the Faculty of Education, Two Teaching
subjects from Colleges of Education are required. The Faculty does
not accept Guidance and Counselling as a Teaching subject.
(iii) NCE Holders from Colleges of Education, affiliated colleges
of Education and none affiliated ones will be admitted into Part
II.
(iv) FOR FACULTY OF EDUCATION
U.T.M.E Five credits in General Certificate of Education or its
equivalent from any nationally or internationally reconginsed
examination body or TCII credit/merit passes
must include English Language for all disciplines. In addition to
this, a credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory for all Bachelor
of Science (B.Sc) in Education programmes.
The (Principal and Practice of Education” was now acceptable as one
of the subjects for admission. Other specific requirements for each
of courses are stated in the table below DIRECT ENTRY In addition
to O/Level (U.T.M,E) requirements candidates seeking Direct Entry
admission into Faculty of Education shall posses G.C.E ‘A’ Level
passes or NCE
credit/merit in two relevant teaching subjects or one
professional/teaching subject offered as double major or one
professional subject combined with a teaching subject (i.e. a
course/subject offered as double major need not be combined with
any teaching subject) however a candidate with a pass in one of the
teaching subjects may be considered for admission provided the
aggregate is not less than seven (7) points in all. Professional
subject that can be combined with teaching subjects for admission
include Primary Education Studies (PES), Guidance and Counselling,
Computer Science/Studies and any Special Education specialization.
Candidates holding NCE certificate in any vocational subject
(offered as combined or as double major) e.g. Electrical
Electronics, Auto Mechanics, Building Technology etc are eligible
for admissions into the B.Ed. Mathematics/Integrated Science or
Physics Education programme. Candidates holding NCE certificate in
any Business Studies, Home Economics are eligible for admission
into either B.Sc Education (Economics) or B.ED Social Studies
programme. Candidates holding NCE certificate in any of Office
Management, Secretarial Studies, Typing and Shorthand are eligible
for admission into the B.Ed Social Studies programme. Candidates
with Diploma in Education with a minimum of merit pass from any
recognised institution are eligible for direct entry admission.

2.2.05 UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA
(a) University of Nigeria, Nsukka requires all candidates applying
for admission into any of its courses to possess five credit O’
level passes which must include a credit pass in English Language
and a Science subject in not more than two sittings. Entry
requirement for Direct Entry must include UTME requirement for that
particular course. Prospective candidates should also visit its

2.2.06 COVENANT UNIVERSITY, OTTA, OGUN STATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
(i) Credit passes in the Senior Secondary School (S.S.S.)
Certificate, or its equivalent in relevant subject areas in
addition to acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination, are the qualifications for admission into the four (4)
year degree programmes of Covenant University. (ii) Covenant
University does not admit through Direct Entry. (iii) English
Language Requirement
In all cases, credit pass in Mathematics and English Language at
the Senior School Certificate or equivalent are required for all
courses in Covenant University. 2.2.07 FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES OF
AGRICULTURE, ABEOKUTA
University of Agriculture, Abeokuta requires all candidates seeking
admission into any of its courses to possess at least five (5) SSCE
credit passes in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings
including English Language and Mathematics. The candidates must be
sixteen (16) years of age by 1st of October in the year of
admission.
Agricultural programmes UTME: Five O’ level credit passes in
English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at
not more than two sittings for admission into any course of the
programme. A waiver is given to candidates with pass in Biology if
he/she has a credit pass in Agricultural Science. A pass in Physics
is acceptable only for Agricultural programmes. DIRECT ENTRY: In

The section on "Combined Degrees" is designed to foster the niche
for the University that was outlined in the Academic Brief and
approved by the National Universities Commission. In particular,
the selected combined degrees seek to empower generational leaders
with balanced comprehensive curricula which will make them job
creators rather than job seekers, hence the role of information
technology and business/managerial aspects has been prioritized in
the combinations and this will make Salem University graduate
highly vocationalzed in entrepreneurial skills.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: a) At least five credit passed (including
English Language and Mathematics) which must be obtained in not
more than two sitting in the West African School Certificate
Examination (WASCE) and the General Certificate of Education (GCE).
Direct Entry Mode b) For candidates to qualify for direct entry
into Salem University, they must have A-Level passes in two
relevant subjects in addition to five credit passes at the O-
Level, which must include English Language and Mathematics. The
University also accepts its own Diploma Certificate in the various
courses run at the IJMB Programme as well as Diploma Certificates

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the various departmental requirements, a candidate
MUST have an SSCE credit passes in Mathematics and English
Language.
2.2.13 FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES, EFFURUM
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
i. All admissions into FUPRE are through UTME
ii. FUPRE will admit students via Direct Entry into 200 Level only
through the JUPEB with effect from 2015/2016 session. iii. FUPRE
requires all candidates applying for admission to possess a minimum
of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/NABTEB/NECO etc. at not more than
two sittings
in relevant subjects, including English Language and
Mathematics.

2.2.14 UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A pass at credit
Level in English Language and Mathematics is required for admission
into all courses. An ordinary pass in Mathematics may be accepted
for LAW and all ARTS based courses. 2.2.15 FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF
TECHNOLOGY, OWERRI ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A pass at credit Level in
English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry is a MUST in addition
to credit passes in other subjects relevant to the respective
Department. 2.2.16 UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT 1. Admission by Entrance Examination –
UTME.
The Entrance Examination is conducted by JAMB. In addition to
attaining the required standard in entrance examination, candidates
must satisfy the general
University as well as specific Faculty requirements.
For the general requirement, candidates must obtain at least a
credit pass in five subjects at S.S.C.E. O’Level or approved
equivalent, including English Language
and Mathematics at not more than two sittings (See tables for other
faculty requirements).
2. Admission by Direct Entry
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
(i) A minimum of two passes at the Principal or Advanced Level. In
addition, candidates must also obtain at least a credit pass in
five subjects at S.S.C.E.
or approved equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics
at not more than two sittings (See tables for other faculty
requirements).
(ii) A minimum of two passes in recognized NCE subjects. Education
is accepted as a second ‘A’ Level subject for those taking courses
in Education. In
addition, candidates must also obtain at least a credit pass in
five subjects at S.S.C.E. or approved equivalent, including English
Language and
Mathematics at not more than two sittings. (See tables for other
faculty requirements).

(iii) Candidates who successfully pass the final examination of the
following Institutions shall also be considered eligible for
admission: The International
Baccalaureate obtained from an accredited Institution with relevant
gradings; the University of Ilorin Diploma, National Diploma
from
Monotechnics/Polytechnics or Colleges of Technology, not below
Upper Credit,and applicable only to some faculties (See table on
Special Faculty
requirements); and the Defence Academy Certificate as moderated by
a recognized University. In addition, candidates must also obtain
at least a credit
pass in five subjects at S.S.C.E. or approved equivalent, including
English Language and Mathematics at not more than two
sittings
Other conditions to note:
(i) No subject may be counted at both O’ and A’ Levels.
(ii) General Paper at H.S.C. or in any other examination will not
be accepted as a substitute for English language.
(iii) A credit pass in English Language and Mathematics of the IJMB
at the O’ Level is acceptable as equivalent to SSCE/GCE O’ Level
for admission purpose.
2.2.17 VERITAS UNIVERSITY, ABUJA GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: (i) A
minimum standard of five (5) credits at not more than two sittings,
including English in all courses. For all Science Courses,
candidates must have credits in
Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For Management and Social Sciences,
candidates requires five (5) credits pass to include English and
Mathematics. For courses in Economics, candidates must have credit
in Economics and for other Social Science Courses, e.g. Political
Science/Sociology. Candidates must have a pass in
Mathematics.
(ii) Grade II Teacher's Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit
passes in at least five (5) subjects. iii) National Teaching
Certificate (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC) with credit
passes in five (5) subjects relevant to the course and obtained at
not more than
two sittings. For the purpose of NTC/NBC, a credit in any General
Education subjects, trade related subjects and trade component
subjects is equivalent to a credit in a subject.
ENTRY BY DIRECT APPLICATION (DE)
Applicants with one of the following qualifications may be
considered for admission. However, the University will not admit
into 200 level in its first two years of operation.
i) A minimum of five (5) subjects passes at not more than two
sittings with at least two at the Principal or Advanced level of
the GCE and the others, at credit
level of the SSCE/GCE O/Level, NTC/NBC. No subject shall be counted
at both Ordinary and Advanced levels. ii) Passes in two major
subjects in the NCE with S.S.C. O/Level, NTC/NBC credits or
equivalents in THREE other subjects (mainly for Education Courses).

may be accepted as a third A/Level subject for those taking course

First Degree holders. 2.2.18 KADUNA STATE UNIVERSITY GENERAL
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Kaduna State University requires all
candidates applying for admission of its courses to possess at
least five (5) SSCE credit passes in relevant subjects at not more
than two sittings including English Language. A credit in
Mathematics is required for all Science as well as Social and
Management Science courses. At least a pass is required for all
Arts courses. The University accepts 'O' level results of WAEC and
NECO only for admission into all its programmes. The University
does not accept Direct Entry candidates, and hence all candidates
must come through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
(UTME). The University does not accept Agricultural Science, Home
Management and Food and Nutrition for admission into any of its
programmes for now. 2.2. 19 AJAYI CROWTHER UNIVERSITY (ACU), OYO
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS All candidates applying for admission into
any 100 level undergraduate programme of ACU must possess a minimum
of five (5) SSCE credit passes at one sitting or six (6) SSCE
credit passes at not more than two sittings at SSCE, GCE, NECO or
its equivalent. One of the credit passes must be in English
Language while the candidates, should in addition, satisfy the
specific requirements for each programme. All candidates are
expected to obtain JAMB admission form for UTME or Direct Entry and
make Ajayi Crowther their first choice University and sit for the

candidates must possess any of the following: i. At least 5 credit
passes in relevant subjects at GCE O/L, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or
approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings including English

Mathematics, and the core science subjects namely Biology,
Chemistry and Physics. A credit pass in Geography will be an
advantage. ii. 2 A/L passes in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry,

NECO or approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings. iii. OND
at upper credit and above in relevant subjects in addition to UTME
entry requirements in (i) above. G. FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND
MANAGEMENT SCIENCES 1.1 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1.2 GENERAL
UNIVERSITY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (i) Admission into the Akwa Ibom
State University shall be through Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examinations (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board (JAMB) or Direct Entry. In addition to
attaining the general required standard in UTME, candidates must
satisfy the general University requirements as well as the specific
School /Faculty and Programmes requirements. All admissions shall
be through JAMB.

(ii) The candidate must be over 16 years of age by 1st October in
the year of admission. (iii) Candidates must possess at least 5
credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language at
GCE O/L, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not
more than 2 sittings. (iv) Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC
II) with passes at credit or merit levels in conjunction with
credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO
or approved equivalents may be considered. No subject may be
counted at both TC II and GCE O/L. 1.3 DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates for Direct Entry admission must possess any of the
following qualifications: (i) Two (2) passes at GCE A/L, HSC, IJMB
or approved equivalents in relevant subjects and at least credit
passes in three (3) other subjects, including English
Language at GCE (O/L), WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at
not more than 2 sittings. (ii) Three (3) passes at GCE A/L, HSC,
IJMB or approved equivalents in relevant subjects and at least
credit passes in two (2) other subjects including English
Language at GCE O/L, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at
not more than two sittings. (iii) Two (2) passes at merit level or
above in two (2) recognized NCE, OND, HND subjects or approved
equivalents and at least 3 credit passes in other subjects
including English Language at GCE O/L WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved
equivalents at not more than 2 sittings. 1.4 OTHER ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS (i) A pass in general paper at HSC or approved
equivalents would not be accepted as a substitute for a credit pass
in English Language at GCE O/L, WASCE, SSCE,
NECO or approved equivalents.
(ii) Interviews may be conducted as a component of the admission
process in addition to UTME or Direct Entry by JAMB.
1.5 DURATION: (i) Entry through UTME with GCE O/L or approved
equivalent - 4 years. (ii) Direct entry with GCE A/L or approved
equivalent - 3 years. 2.2.26 NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA
(NOUN)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A. 100 LEVEL i. Five credits in the SSCE/GCE
O' Level/NECO/NABTEB or equivalents at not more than two (2)
sittings obtained in subjects relevant to the proposed field(s)
of
study. ii. Teachers' Grade II Certificate with a minimum of five
merits of its combination with any of the certificates listed under
(i) to obtain equivalent of five credits at
O' Levels.

iii. Candidates seeking admission into School of Law must have five
(5) credits including English Language, Literature in English and
at least a Pass in Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings in
NECO/SSCE or GCE O/L only.
iv. The School of Arts and Social Sciences requires that one of the
five credits or merits must be in English Language, while at least
two (2) should be in subjects relevant to the proposed field.
v. For School of Business and Human Resources Management, the
credit passes must include English and Mathematics. vi. For School
of Education, the credit passes must include Mathematics for
Science Education applicants and English Language for all
humanities. Additionally,
those in Science Education must have credit in English Language.
vii. For School of Science and Technology, the credit passes must

recognized university with at least five credits including
English Language, Literature in English and a pass in Mathematics
at not more than two sittings in NECO/SSCE or GCE 'O' level only.
Other Requirements v. Five credit passes at SSCE/GCE 'O' and 'A'
level must be in subjects relevant to the proposed field(s) of
study. vi. A credit level pass in Mathematics is required for all
Sciences and Technology, Business Education and Science Education
Programmes. A pass in Mathematics
may be considered for Social Sciences Programmes. Also, a pass in
English Language may be considered for Physics and Mathematics
Programmes. vii. Candidates applying for B.A English, B.A. (Ed)
English and B.Sc. Mass Communication must have a credit in
Literature in English. viii. Prior knowledge and relevant work
experience (including firs degree/HND/RN) may be considered for
advanced placement and waiver. ix. Candidates awaiting results of
any relevant examination may also apply; they should however note
that processing of application will not be completed until
entry requirements are met. 3. DURATION OF PROGRAMME

candidate can re-open the form as often as he/she likes, before the
closing date, for editing and/or additional information. However,
once
the completed form is submitted, the candidate can no longer have
access to it for the purpose of editing and/or making additional
input, but can only view the form. An acknowledgement will be sent

2.2.27 ENUGU STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. ADMISSIONS
REQUIREMENTS.
Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu requires
all candidates applying for admission into any of its courses to
possess credit passes in English and Mathematics plus 3 other
relevant subjects.
2.2.28 MICHAEL OKPARA UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, UMUDIKE DIRECT
ENTRY ADMISSIONS

Examination or its equivalent in relevant subject areas in addition
