Recommendations In order to move this initiative forward and for it to gain momentum and become a vital

part of the outsourcing sector, a number of actions need to be taken. Increase awareness of Impact Sourcing.

Seek to scale Impact Sourcing.  Leverage alliances with large-scale traditionaloutsourcers who have access to large client contracts, and focus Impact Sourcingoperations with an intention to scale in areas with an established outsourcing center.

Traditional outsourcers to increase Impact Sourcing initiatives.

Recognize existing on-shore and off-shore opportunities. Impact Sourcing can alsoexist to support disadvantaged individuals within developed countries.

Establish credible governance structures.  To preserve the integrity of ImpactSourcing and ensure its core messages are not compromised, credible governancestructures are vital.

Expand the definition of Impact Sourcing. Impact Sourcing should include any focus

on sourcing employees from uniquely disadvantaged groups, rather than only focusingon outsourcing.

Promote and support Impact Sourcing initiatives.

Test Impact Sourcing initiatives.

Recommedations (contd) Impact sourcing service providers are social

enterprises that hire, train and invest in impactsourcing workers.

They need more contracts, more customerrelationships and international marketing to delivermore social impact.

Businesses in the United States and Europe need tobuy into these services – local African businesses won’tbe enough.

Africa & IS Africa will soon have the largest workforce on earth,

but its economy isn’t creating jobs fast enough to meeta growing labor supply. Despite decades ofdevelopment, few solutions have delivered job creationat scale.

However, as our industries advance from analog todigital, there’s plenty of work to go around. This is theprincipal tenet of impact sourcing –  bringingtraditional outsourced work to disadvantagedcommunities.
