IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 26, 1995 THE 16TH ANNUAL NEWS AND DOCUMENTARY EMMY A WARD NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED BY THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES Nearly 1300 Entries-- A News & Documentary Emmy Award Record New York, July 26-- The 16th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Award nominations were announced today by John Cannon, President of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. A total of 106 nominations in 29 areas were judged by peers from nearly 1300 entries-- a record number. The Emmy Awards will be presented September 12th at a black-tie dinner and ceremony at The Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, New York City. As has been the tradition for years, newsmakers of national and international prominence will present the Emmys to the newsmen and women covering the national and international scene on television.
