October is the Month of the Holy Rosary
Each year, we dedicate the month of October to the most Holy
Rosary, a devotion to our Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother. The
Rosary is a form of vocal and mental prayer on the Mysteries of
our Redemption, divided into fifteen decades. The recitation of
each decade is accompanied by meditation on one of fifteen events
or "mysteries." The mysteries consist of The Joyful Mysteries
(prayed on Mondays & Saturdays). The Luminous Mysteries
(prayed on Thursdays) The Sorrowful Mysteries (prayed on
Tuesdays & Fridays) and the Glorious Mysteries (prayed on
Sundays & Wednesdays).
The Rosary is an old prayer that is always new, leading us to Jesus
through Mary. We can trace the beginning of the Rosary to the
12th century when the people who could not read or write would
count their prayers on a string of beads. The word rosary means a
garland or bouquet of roses. The Blessed
Mother urged everyone to pray the Rosary
during her apparitions at Fatima, Portugal.
She called herself "Lady of the Rosary"
and promised that the Rosary would help
people grow in their faith, convert sinners
and bring about world peace.
It is important for us to "Pray" the Rosary,
not just 'say' the Rosary. Think about
what you are praying for, don't just say
the words.

Office Closed Father John will be attending a seminar on
Tuesday, October 24th
along with others from
the parish and office, so we will be closing the
office on that day. Thank you for your
understanding.
In Need of Help!! We are looking for a Parishioner that would be willing
to be the Sacristan, for funerals, weddings, etc. when
Joe can't be there. The things that need to be done,
are: Open front doors , make sure the switch is on for
the handicapped to open the door, turn on all the lights,
consider time of year, keeping windows open and fans
on high if the weather is hot, or the heat turned on if it's
cold. Candles filled with oil and lit, wine, hosts, books,
all ready for Mass. Make sure the lobby is clear, tables
that are set up, taken down, and stowed away, unless
needed for the occasion. Microphones turned on. Take
down any flowers that would interfere with the occasion
that is going on. Return church to normal. Pick up
whatever clutter may be left behind. Then, lights off,
microphones off, tables put back up if it was taken
down, candles out, all Mass utensils washed and put
away, Doors locked, close windows, leave overhead
fans on, heat on or off according to season. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Stewardship Weekend 2017
All parishes in the Diocese of Green Bay
are invited every year to celebrate
Stewardship Sunday on the second weekend of
November. November was chosen because of its
relationship to gratitude and thanksgiving -- the
foundation for understanding and living stewardship as
"a way of life." The theme for this year's celebration,
November 11th
and 12th
, is "In Jesus' Name: Be
Bold". Please contact Department of Parish Planning
& Pastoral Services at (920) 272-8295 or e-mail
[email protected] for more information. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
