Here Ariana Grande is represented as innocent and stereotypically girlie, which is seen from her natural make up and pink party dress. This has inspired my ideas for my own photo-shoot as the image fully represents the pop genre of my magazine. She appears to be in the middle of a dance routine, thus conveying the model to be fun, which conveys the stereotype of pop.

This image has given me some ideas for my photo-shoot in regards to props. By shooting Katy Perry blowing bubbles it reinforces the innocent representation of the model as bubbles are stereotypically associated with younger children. This also makes her seem fun and not serious.

Again, the artist is clothed in a pretty, party dress, which makes them appear feminine. I may use this pose of her lying on the floor and use a prop of big headphones (which reinforces her music career) as the pose creates a link between the reader and the model as they are at the same eye level. This makes the model appear more approachable and lowers the severity of the image.

I like this image of Rihanna as she looks very fun and girlie, and it completely fits the needs for my pop magazine cover shoot. The oversized lollipop exaggerates the OTT elements of pop music and heightens the fun of the image. However, the licking of the lollipop seems to sexualise the model, and therefore would not be appropriate for my young target audience of 12-15 year olds.
