This tutorial will take you through the basic features of Image Compressor namely Mosaicking, Color Balancing and Compressing your Imagery. How to mosaic imagery 1. Click on the bottom far left icon to access the Mosaicking Wizard. 2. Choose which window you want the new image mosaic to be displayed in and click the ‘Next’ button. Image Compressor Tutorial

3. Select the directory where the imagery is stored that you want to mosaic.
4. Check to display the image in 2D mode. Also check each of the three options below are alsochecked. Namely ‘Mosaic all le types’, ‘Manually set mosaic method’ and Contract stretchimage(s) upon loading. Click the ‘Next’ button.
5. Check the boxes ‘Cell sizes, ‘Types of data’, ‘Number of bands’ and ‘Coordinate systems’ andthen click the ‘Next’ button.
A status bar appears on the screen whilst the different images are mosaicked. This closes when the images are fnished being mosaicked.
This section will lead on from the previous section and we will therefore use the same sampleimagery that we have just mosaicked.
1. Click on the button on the right hand side of the mosaic button.
2. The Color Balancing Wizard appears. Press the ‘Next’ button to proceed to the next option.However, if you have changed the imagery that you need processing check this box.
A status bar appears which collates the selected information.
6. You now have the option of matching the colors. Leave it on the default setting which is‘Match colors to the entire mosaic’.
5. Select how you want the color balanced mosaicked image displayed. The default is set at‘Balanced with no black or white edges’ and leave the rest of the options unchecked.
This section will lead on from the previous section and we will therefore use the same sampleimager that we have just mosaicked and color balanced.
1. Click on the button on the right hand side of the Color Balance button.
2. Select which le compression format you would like the imagery saved as. In this tutorial we
are using the previously used imagery so therefore we will keep the ‘Use the current algorithmwindow’. Click the ‘Next’ button to proceed to the next step.
