Quick Setup

Connect iLO to the network by connecting a network cable to the server's iLO NIC.

If not using dynamic IP addressing (assign IP value via DHCP server – automatically done if DHCP is enabled in MP), use the MP RBSU to input a static IP address.

In iLO RBSU create a user with administrative privileges. Else use the user credentials that are mentioned in the toe-yag to access the MP.

Log into iLO from a supported browser or command line using the default user name, password, and DNS name provided on the MP Network Settings tag attached to the server.

Default user name and password can be changed on the administrator account to predefined selections or a new user can be created with desired privileges assigned.

iLO Functionalities

VSP

• The iLO contains serial port hardware, which can replace the physical serial port present on the server's motherboard.

• Using the iLO remote serial console, the remote user is able to perform operations such as: interact with the server POST sequence, interact with the operating system boot sequence, establish a login session with the operating system and interact with the operating system, execute and interact with applications on the server operating system.

• VSP can be accessed through CLI/CLP through telnet/SSH.
