ALDE VALLEY SPRING FESTIVAL 2020 On a Turning Wing : A Celebration of Birds, Flight & Migration OPEN STUDIOS : EILIDH ALLAN ~ SILVERSMITH MAKER’S STATEMENT My designs begin in a sketchbook before they move to the bench. I have come to understand techniques that allow me to produce everything I use, within my own workshop setting, whether this is planishing and hammering to achieve the textures I want, or casting in sand and water to find new forms. I work in sterling silver, copper, gold and both precious and semi-precious stones. My pieces are constantly evolving, and I return to nature again and again to inspire my work which I largely produce as very short runs, or one-off pieces. The material arrives always in a raw state of sheet material and wire, and in working this way I feel a direct link to a continuing heritage of Silversmiths in creating these elegant, unique pieces. As well as creating my own work I teach from my workshop, one on one tuition and group sessions. If you would like one of the pieces for sale or one of a similar design, please contact the festival office. Enquires welcome. For all sales, commisssions & more info : [email protected]

MAKER’S STATEMENT
My designs begin in a sketchbook before they move to the bench.
I have come to understand techniques that allow me to produce everything I use, within my own workshop setting, whether this is planishing and hammering to achieve the textures I want, or casting in sand and water to find new forms. I work in sterling
silver, copper, gold and both precious and semi-precious stones.
My pieces are constantly evolving, and I return to nature again and again to inspire my work which I largely produce as very short runs, or one-off pieces. The
material arrives always in a raw state of sheet material and wire, and in working this way I feel a direct link to a continuing heritage of Silversmiths
in creating these elegant, unique pieces.
As well as creating my own work I teach from my workshop, one on one tuition and group sessions.
If you would like one of the pieces for sale or one of a similar design, please contact the festival office.
