Illegal downloading was judged to be most wrong when artists were described as receiving the profits and least wrong when the industry was described as doing so.

Nearly all participants (95%) believed that music should cost at least something. While college students are concerned about the unfair price the industry charges for music, they also seem to see the merits of paying for goods received.
