The CUV establishes a close connection between the public and the 2012 Campaign, by giving the people of Richmond a direct source of contact. Within the CUV, visitors can interact

with representatives of both the republican and democratic campaign, as well as Fact Check, and participate in community

engagement in politics.

The space encourages people to form their own informed decisions by making connections between their thoughts, the

community, and the campaign.

BIOS Group is a software development company that specializes in chemical modelling programs. Having roughly 20 employees,

the office has a primary focus on collaboration and teamwork. The office design can be easily reconfigured for meetings of any

size. Ceiling treatments that emphasize the company’s work also serve as a wayfinding element for collaboration spaces.

Double sliding glass doors on all six sides allow the structure to open and close completely for easy transition between small and large meetings.

This project is a reception center for an Oncology Clinic focusing on Neurological cancers. The space is highly considerate of

treatment with light, air quality, and sound, because of the sensitive nature of the patients.

The window system in the building allows maximum control of light entering the space to reduce glare for sensitive eyes of patients.

Dropped ceilings accentuate rooms. Bamboo is a ceiling feature in the corridors.

While it appears that there are many rods, from the font view, it is visible that the rods are reasonably spaced for a person to be able to go through.

FLUX Wellness Center A new kind of physical fitness

Contemporary gyms are filled with machines and electrical equipment that only stimulate a small part of what the human

body is capable of. FLUX is an experimental project that explores the possibilites of physical fitness beyond equipment,

and uses the building as the actual interaction.

This exhibition was a collaborative effort between several students and Dr. Johan Granberg. All items on display are works of Dr.

Granberg. The system which holds the items, and the graphics, were works of the students.

Making/Breaking ExhibitionCollaboration

These trays are a 3-D printed replica of a series of trays that focus on eating rituals. They were re-modeled from the original item in Rhino by me.

This system, designed by me, displays several pieces of wood that resulted from a workshop. Materials: wood, plexiglass, steel rods, nuts.

This is a system designed to display a piece of joinery. Joinery, which consists of a billiard ball and plexiglass, was designed by Dr. Granberg. Display system, made out of steel rods, nuts, and wood, designed by me.

This system, designed by me, displays a piece of joinery consisting of bamboo and a coconut. Materials for the display: Wood,

plexiglass, steel rods, nuts, fishing wire.

MOBILE|IMMOBILE is an ergonomically-friendly backless seat which encourages movement while sitting. It is entirely

slotted, which makes it able to be flat-packed, and fairly small, making it easy to carry around.

In the summer of 2011, I studied abroad in Europe through Virginia Tech’s Architecture program. We started in Rome, Italy, and backpacked our way through Europe, ending in Berlin, Germany. These are a field sketches from the trip.
