License AgreementEND-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR IK MULTIMEDIA PRODUCT

Pleasereadthisdocumentcarefullybeforebreakingthesealonthemediapackage.Thisagreementlicensestheenclosedsoftwaretoyouandcontainswarrantyandliabilitydisclaimers.

Bybreakingthesealonthemediaenvelope,youareconfirmingtohavetakennoticeoftermsandconditionsofthisagreementandyouacknowledgeyouracceptanceofthesoftwareaswellasyouracceptanceofthetermsofthisagreement.Ifyoudonotwishtodoso,donotbreaktheseal.Instead,promptlyreturntheentirepackage,includingtheunopenedmediapackage,tothedealerfromwhomyouhaveobtainedit,forafullrefund.

1)DEFINITIONS

EULAmeansthisenduserlicenseagreement

IKMultimediaProductmeansthesoftwareprogramincludedintheenclosedpackage,andallrelatedupdatessuppliedbyIKMultimedia.

IKMultimediaProductmeansthesoftwareprogramandhardware(ifany)includedintheenclosedpackage,therelateddocumentation,models,multi-mediacontent(suchasanimation,soundandgraphics)andallrelatedupdatessuppliedbyIKMultimedia.

Notforresale(NFR)VersionmeansaversionofIKMultimediaProduct,soidentified,isintendedforreviewandevaluationpurposes,only.

2)LICENSE

TheIKMultimediaProductisprotectedbycopyrightlawsandinternationalcopyrighttreaties,aswellasotherintellectualpropertylawsandtreaties.TheIKMultimediaProduct is licensed,notsold.ThisEULAgrantsyoutherightsasspecifiedherebelow.AllotheractionsandmeansofusagearereservedtothewrittenpermissionoftherightholderIKMultimediaProductionSrl:

Applications Software.TheIKMultimediaProductmaybeusedonlybyyou.YoumayinstallandusetheIKMultimediaProduct,oranypriorversionthereofforthesameoperatingsystem,onuptothree(3)computers,providedthat(a)eachcomputerisownedby(orleasedto)andundertheexclusivecontrolofthelicensee;(b)theprogram(s)shallNOTbeusedsimultaneouslyonmorethanonemachine,and(c)anycomputer(s)withIKMultimediasoftwareinstalledshallnotbesold,rented,leased,loanedorotherwiseberemovedfromthelicenseespossessionwithoutfirstremoving(uninstalling)thelicensedsoftware,exceptasprovidedinParagraph4(below)pertainingtoSoftwareTransfer.

Storage/Network use.YoumayalsostoreorinstallacopyoftheIKMultimediaProductonastoragedevice,suchasanetworkserver,usedonlytoinstallorruntheIKMultimediaProductonyourothercomputersoveraninternalnetwork;however,youmustacquireanddedicateadistinctlicenseforeachuseroftheIKMultimediaProductfromthestoragedevice.AnygivenlicensefortheIKMultimediaProductmaynotbesharedorusedconcurrentlyorotherwiseondifferentcomputersorbydifferentdevelopersinagivenorganization.

3)AUTHORIZATIONCODE

TheIKMultimediaProductonlyfunctionswhenyouareinthepossessionofanauthorizationcode.Youwillreceiveanauthorizationcodeuponcomplet-ingtheauthorizationcoderequestprocedure.Onceyourauthorizationcodeisactivated,youmayusetheproduct.

Youagreetofollowtheauthorizationcoderequestprocedureandwillprovidetrue,accurateandcompleteinformationaboutyourself.Ifyouprovideanyinformationthatisuntrue,inaccurate,notcorrectorincomplete,orIKMultimediahasreasonablegroundstosuspectthatsuchinformationisuntrue,inaccurate,notcorrectorincomplete,IKMultimediahastherighttosuspendortorevokethelicense.

Theterminationofthelicenseshallbewithoutprejudicetoanyrights,whatsoever,ofIKMultimedia.

4)DESCRIPTIONOFOTHERRIGHTSANDLIMITATIONS

Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly.Youmaynot reverseengineer,decompile,ordisassemble theIKMultimediaProduct,exceptandonlytotheextentthatsuchactivityisexpresslypermittedbyapplicablelawnotwithstandingthislimitationofcomponents.TheIKMultimediaProductislicensedasasingleproduct.Itscomponentpartsmaynotbeseparatedforuseonmorethanonecomputer.

Not for Resale Version.IftheIKMultimediaProductislabeledNotforResaleorNFRorEvaluationCopy,then,notwithstandingothersectionsofthisEULA,youmaynotsell,orotherwisetransfertheIKMultimediaProduct.

Rental.Youmaynotrent,lease,orlendtheIKMultimediaProducttoanyparty.

Software Transfer.Youmaynottransfer,licenseorsublicenseyourrightsasLicenseeofthesoftwareoranyIKMultimediaproduct,aslicensedtoyouunderthisagreementwithoutpriorwrittenconsentoftherightsowner.ThecarrieronwhichtheIKMultimediaproducthasbeendistributedmaybetransferredorotherwisemadeavailabletoanythirdpartyonlywiththepriorwrittenconsentoftherightsownerandprovidedthat(a)theoriginalmedia

andlicense(s)accompanythecarrierand(b)thepartytransferringthemediadoesnotretainacopyofthemedia.

5)UPGRADES

IftheIKMultimediaProductislabeledorotherwiseidentifiedbyIKMultimediaasanupgrade,youmustbeproperlylicensedtouseaproductidenti-fiedbyIKMultimediaasbeingeligiblefortheupgradeinordertousetheIKMultimediaProduct.

AnIKMultimediaProductlabeledorotherwiseidentifiedbyIKMultimediaasanupgradereplacesand/orsupplementstheproductthatformedtheba-sisforyoureligibilityforsuchupgrade.YoumayusetheresultingupgradedproductonlyinaccordancewiththetermsofthisEULA.IftheIKMultimediaProductisanupgradeofacomponentofapackageofsoftwareprogramsthatyoulicensedasasingleproduct,theIKMultimediaProductmaybeusedandtransferredonlyaspartofthatsingleproductpackageandmaynotbeseparatedforuseonmorethanonecomputer.

6)DUAL-MEDIASOFTWARE

YoumayreceivetheIKMultimediaProductinmorethanonemedium.Youmaynotloan,rent,lease,orotherwisetransfertheothermediumtoanotheruser,exceptaspartofthepermanenttransfer(asprovidedabove)oftheIKMultimediaProduct.

7)LIMITEDWARRANTY

IKMultimediawarrantstotheoriginalpurchaserofthecomputersoftwareproduct,foraperiodofninety(90)daysfollowingthedateoforiginalpurchase,thatundernormaluse,thesoftwareprogramandtheuserdocumentationarefreefromdefectsthatwillmateriallyinterferewiththeoperationoftheprogramasdescribedintheencloseduserdocumentation.

8)WARRANTYCLAIMS

Buffer Size: Adjusting the buffer settings will change the audio signallatency. In fact, theamountof latencydependson several factors suchascomputerspeedandaudiointerfaceperformance.Decreasingthebuffersizevaluewillreducetheamountofsignaldelay,sothegoalistogetthelatencyaslowaspossiblewithoutgettinganyaudioartifacts.Asastartingpoint,a buffer size of 144 samples should be fine on most modern computers.However,consideringthateachsystemisdifferent;pleaseexperimentwithyoursettingsuntilyougetthebestresult.

2.2.3 Plug Your Guitar

NowthatAmpliTube3isinstalledandyouraudiointerfaceisconfiguredwearereadytomoveforward.

2.2.3.1 Connecting Your Guitar/Bass

PlugyourinstrumentintoaHi-ZInput,InstrumentInput,oraMicrophoneXLRInput(onlyifyouareusinganactiveDIBOXbetweentheguitar1/4PlugandtheMicXLRinput).

DonotuseRegularLineInputs,-10dBor+4dBInputs,unlessyoureusinganactiveinstrumentoryouareaddinganactivebufferbetweentheinstru-mentandthelineinput.

2.2.3.2 Adjusting Your Levels

First of all, check that your instrument volume knob is all the way upSecond,letsanalyzehowyouraudiointerfaceandAmpliTube3interact.

When you are using AmpliTube 3 as Standalone, there are two ways tooptimizetheGlobalInputlevel:

Oversampling is enabled by default on Stomps, Preamps and PowerampswhenAmpliTube3issettoHiquality.

TIP:youcandisableOversamplingwhenworkingonasessioninreal-timeandactivateitjustbeforebouncingthefinalmix.

High Resolution(enabledbydefault):

Enabling High Resolution will improve the dynamic and musicalresponseofthepoweramplifiers,buttheCPUusagewillbesomewhathigher.PleasedisableHighResolutiononlyifyourcomputerdoesnothavesufficientCPUpowerforthecurrentsession.

HighResolutionmakesadeeperandmoresophisticatedusageofIKMultimedia proprietary DSM technology, which on some amps resultin slightly more compression and stronger/more real saturation ofvariousampsstages.Thismeans that incertaincasesenablingHighResolutionmightresultinaslightdecreaseoftheaudiolevel,asarealampdoeswhenitstartscompressingandsaturatingincomparisonwithatheoreticalamp,butontheothersidetherealism,musicality,andqualitywillgreatlybeenhanced.

Amps Reverb:

Real Spring: (enabled by defaultwhen AmpliTube 3 is set in Hi qualitymode).WhenthisisenabledAmplifierswithbuilt-inreverbwillusearealspringreverbmodel,directlytakenfromeachamplifiermodel.Thisisthemostrealisticoption,andeachAmplifierwillhaveitsownsignaturereverb.

Digital: when this is enabled, Amplifiers with built-in reverb will use adigitalalgorithmicemulationofaspringreverb.Thisoption,stillsoundinggreat,isalessrealisticalternativeandwillalsosoundthesameonallamps.

Room:

Real Ambience: (enabled by default when AmpliTube 3 is set in Hiqualitymode).AmpliTube3willuse impulse response (basedon realrooms and spaces) to achieve maximum realism and deepness fromthe ambience youre adding to your sound. This will take a little bitmoreCPUpowerthantheDigitaloption,butitwillallowyoutochoosebetween different types of spaces and ambiences delivering an out-standingsound.

High: offers the best sound quality at a slightly higher CPU usage(enabledbydefaultwhenAmpliTube3issetinHiqualitymode).Alwaysuse this settingwhen it is possible. Thiswill deliver the best qualityfromtheAmpliTube3speakers.

Mid:offersaverygoodsoundqualityatareasonableCPUusage.

Low:offersagoodsoundqualityataverylowCPUusage.Thisoptionhas to beused onlywhen you really need to saveCPUpower as therealism and musicality of the speakers is not really expressed at itsmaximumpotentialunderthissetting.Also,thissettingshouldnotbeusedonbasscabinetsasthelowfrequencyextensioncouldbeexces-sivelylimited.

Cabinet Global Bypass:

ThisbypassestheCabmoduleglobally,onallpresets,independentlyfromwhateachpresethassetupontheCabinetmodule.

Thiscreativedelayeffectunitcanbeusedtocreateinterestingandunusualdelayeffectsthankstothe8totallyindependenttaps.Youcancreategroov-ingrhythmpatternsbycombiningmoretapswithaspecifictimesignature,andyoucanmixthisupwithpsychedelicreversetapeeffectsyouareabletosetforeachtap(figure7.14).

TheTapDelayisactually8delaysinonesingleunit,anditispossibletosettime,timbre,andlevelforeachofthem.Inaddition,youcangloballycontrolwith single knobsparameters for all the8 taps simultaneously, like time,dry/wetmixandfeedbackamount.

Controls:

TIME:globallyshiftsthedelaytimeofallthe8taps.Thisisarelativecontrol,whensetatthecenterposition(1x)itdoesnotalterthetimethat has been setup on each Tap, when set tominimum (0.25x) itdividesalltimesbyfourandwhensettomax(4x)itmultiplyalltimesbyfour.Useittogloballychangethedelaytempowithoutchangingtherelationsbetweenalltaps.
