Greetings

It was just about 50 years ago when Korea had to rely on international aid for survival.However, Korea now stands as the world’s strongest ICT nation because of its undying commitment to ICT R&D initiatives. ICT markets change rapidly and often has a short life cycle. IITP helps ICT researchers and developers deliver their R&D results effectively by providing seamless support along the R&D cycle.

IITP strives towards ensuring promising R&D products to be available in the market by fostering professional and fair evaluation, research-centered R&D environment, and rapid penetration of technological advancement.

IITP will spearhead Korea’s ICT R&D value in order to develop Korea into a more successful nation.

The public ICT R&D management functions were formerly distributed among five different institutions,which caused unnecessary confusion.To ensure the timely response to rapid changes in the ICT environment, IITP was established as the dedicated national ICT R&D funding agency in 2014 as a successor to the functions of those five institutions.
