we will have the Exposition of

the Eucharist for 24 hours in

the Chapel. This will begin

after the 8:30 mass (9:00 am) and will end

before the 8:30 mass on Saturday, October. A

sign up sheet is on a table at the entrance of

the Church. We encourage every parishioner

to choose their most convenient time to come

to adore Our Lord and pray for the end of

abortion, as well as other priority intentions.

Campaña “Cuéntame, cuenta conmigo”

Gracias a los líderes de los grupos parroquiales,

En agosto, un grupo de 11 líderes de los 3 grupos de la parroquia se reunieron con el Padre Manship para

analizar las condiciones pastorales de la parroquia. Se concientizaron de la realidad y del hecho de que muy

pocos miembros de la comunidad hispana respondieron a la Carta Anual, entonces tomaron la decisión de llevar

acabo una campaña de concientización sobre nuestra responsabilidad de mantener esta parroquia. La campaña

“Cuéntame, cuenten conmigo” empezó con la idea de invitar a los miembros de los grupos a considerar una

ofrenda sacrificial personal enmarcado en un espíritu de oración y de reflexión.

Es importante aclarar algunos asuntos para los católicos, a diferencia de las sectas no exigimos un diezmo. El

diezmo es cuando los miembros de una iglesia protestante le muestran sus ingresos al pastor, y éste recibe el 10% de esa ganancia para su Iglesia. Los católicos no obligamos a nuestra feligresía a dar una cierta cantidad de

dinero, es un asunto entre el alma de cada persona y Dios. Nuestra responsabilidad como católicos es invitar a

los feligreses a considerar su ofrenda sacrificial en espíritu de oración, Independientemente de la cantidad, cada

persona delante de Dios y según su conciencia tiene la responsabilidad de tomar su decisión. Entonces, los 11

líderes y el Padre Manship tomaron en oración la invitación de realizar esta campaña antes de pedirle a otros

hacer lo mismo.

Las siguientes personas, invitaron a miembros de sus grupos a considerar una ofrenda sacrificial en espíritu de

oración. En total 71 personas estuvieron invitados a participar y gracias a Dios y a la generosidad de los 43

feligreses que contestaron a este llamado, se realizó una ofrenda sacrificial de 9,910$. Estos fondos serán parte

de la Carta Anual de la parroquia del 2018. Los fondos del año pasado fueron usados para reparar nuestros

edificios y el mantenimiento general de las instalaciones. La Carta Anual y la ofrenda dominical son las dos

únicas fuentes de ingresos que tenemos para mantener y cubrir los gastos de nuestra parroquia.

Durante los próximos días, todos los feligreses registrados en la parroquia van a recibir la Carta Anual por

correo. Nos gustaría invitar a toda la feligresía a reflexionar y en espíritu de oración hacer una ofrenda

sacrificial para el 2018. Esperamos que podamos contar con todos para la Gloria de Dios y por el bienestar de

nuestra Parroquia Santa Rosa de lima.

Have experienced a loss..are grieving.

Are having medical issues... Surgery, hospitalization,

etc...

Are entering a Convalescent Home.

Are new to the Parish.

Have a joyful occasion such as the birth of a child.

If you know of anyone who can use a Prayer Shawl please

call the rectory with details and a shawl be given to you.

Tienen una ocasión alegre como el nacimiento de un

niño.

Women’s Guild News

The St. Rose Women’s Guild will hold its monthly meeting this Wednesday, October 10th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lower Church. There will be a business meeting followed by a session of craft making for the Holiday Fair. All are welcome…..please join us. And as for joining…….October is our Membership Drive month. We ask all women of the parish to consider joining the Guild. Newsletter and registration forms are available on the Reading Table in the vestibule. If you have any questions leave a message at the Rectory and we’d be glad to contact you. Your participation on any level is needed and so welcome.

DINNER CLUB IS BACK!!!!

We’re happy to announce the return of Dinner Club. Many of you have mentioned you’ve missed it…so let’s get going! Here’s how it works: The cost is $50 per person, and a Dinner Club “round” goes for twelve weeks. Each week there is a drawing, and one person wins $50! At the end of the twelve weeks we hold a catered dinner in the Community Center for all members, and several additional cash prizes are given out that night as well. That’s it….you eat, and you win money, and we raise a little for the parish as well. Please consider joining us this year. Sign-ups will be taken through October 27th. The twelve weeks of drawings will go from Nov. 3rd – Jan. 19th, with the dinner to be held in February. Make checks payable to St. Rose Dinner Club, for $50 per person, and either drop in the collection basket or mail/deliver to the Rectory. (Non-parishioner friends are welcome to join us as well)
