PAR Scope, Purpose and Schedule The Par Scope, Purpose and Schedule were reviewed. The Scope has been defined by the Technical Book Coordinating Committee; and basically, it is Chapter 10 of the Buff Book, IEEE 242-2001. The PAR is valid through December 2014; therefore, the Working Group ballot should be in spring 2014. Expected meeting schedules: April 2013 at I&CPS – Atlanta June 2013 first part – September 2013 first part – November 2013 first part – Old Business There was no old business. New Business IEEE mentor site The new IEEE mentor site was discussed. It will become a part of the Working Group activity. Working Group Meeting Wednesday, September 5, 2012 – Houston, TX
3004.8 Draft Development The Table of Contents was reviewed. The sections of the Draft were reviewed. Volunteers for Task Group leaders and reviewers/writers were noted in each section of the latest draft. The latest draft (showing task groups) will be posted to the mentor web site area for 3004.8. Other items discussed are below:
References – consider footnotes or endnotes for old document, or possible Table (annex).
Low voltage 1000 V; conforms with NEC proposals.
Reference for Red Book, talk with Peter Sutherland for new standard locations.
NEMA MG-1 latest 2011
Base Book – TBCC- Chapter 2, Clause 2.2.1.8 (draft) Medium Voltage reference up to 34.5 kV as medium voltage.
Multifunction – anit-reversal feature can lockout the system (consider a note). Program the thermal limit curves; smart relays that learn the curves.
Convention: Put kW in main text and (hp) next to the kW value.
If allowed, put NEMA reference on mentor site for ASD applications. Next Meeting The next meeting will be on November 5, 2012 at Schneider-Electric, Houston, TX.
