I moved back to Nigeria with my family 3 year ago, and it has been my pleasure to contribute to the efforts and developments in the healthcare sector. Currently, I am serving as the chief operating officer for the Eye Foundation Hospital Group. Over the course of my career, I have supported a range of standardization projects at a department-specific and a system- wide level. Notable projects include the implementation of barcode enabled medication administration, and barcode enabled medication dispense workflow. There have been many successes and a few memorable failures. I have experienced the painstaking preparation, challenging implementation, and most importantly the long-term commitment required to sustain the rewards that standardization has on patient safety.
