It’s that time of the year again when we get together for one of the premier annual gatherings of the Indian digital broadcasting and pay-TV industries. With the recent shift in the TV ecosystem in India brought on by the official mandate to fully digitize the four metros and the subsequent postponement of the July deadline, we decided to expand the scope of IDPS (India Digital Pay-TV Summit) and refocus our attention to the operator community. As a result, we are proud to announce the India Digital Operators’ Summit (IDOS) 2012. Following the change in name is a change in venue also. IDOS 2012 is being held in Goa - the land of beaches, feni and fun – at The Lalit between the 20th and 22nd of September. In keeping with the subject of change, our theme for the Summit is ‘The Digital Dawn’. Participants include leaders from the regulatory, cable distribution, DTH, broadcast, TV distribution and technology segments along with content providers and investors of the broadcasting and pay-TV industries. At the dawn of this emerging digital ecosystem, IDOS 2012 will not only bring to light the pertinent issues faced by the industry but delegates will also gain insight into how other key Asian markets have succeeded in their digital transitions. In short, the Summit aims to bring together the market leaders of innovation in the digital space in an attempt to ensure a bright and successful future.
