Participation in the development of Tools and Platforms
ViProd - Virtual Power Players (VPPs) simulator
ViProd allows test and simulation of VPPs operation, considering the models of
several distributed generation technologies.
ERMAS – Energy Resources Management System
ERMAS allows the energy resources management in smart grids operation context
considering an aggregator player that manages a set of heterogeneous energy
resources (generation units, storage systems, electric vehicles), which includes a
set of consumers with Demand Response (DR) programs and in some cases, the
management of parts of distribution network.
Page 27
Curriculum Vitae – Hugo Morais
December 2015 Page 27
MASCEM – Multi-Agent System to Complex Electricity Markets
MASCEM allows a wide range of electricity markets models and different types
of players, including Virtual Plower Players (VPPs).
SHIM - SCADA House Intelligent Management
Smart resource management at the household level. SHIM considers micro-
generation of electricity, electric vehicles and all electrical equipment inside the
houses.
MASGriP – Multi-Agent Smart Grids Platform
MASGriP allows the simulation of future power systems operation, mainly in the
distribution level. The considered hierarchical management implemented in
MASGriP allows a large set of simulation focus in technical and/or economic
aspects. Several players are implemented reflecting the real world, like
consumers, producers, distribution system operator (DSO), independent system
operator (ISO), etc. However, MASGriP has also implemented several new agents
which can take an important role in future power systems management and
operation, like a virtual power players (VPPs), curtailment service provider
(CSP), micro-grids operators, energy services companies (ESCO), etc.
DemSi – Demand Response Simulator
DemSi allows the simulation of wide range of DR programs and optimize, in each
context, actions to be taken by the various entities involved.
EVeSSi – Electric Vehicle Scenario Simulator
EVeSSI is an electric vehicles scenario generation tool in electric grids, namely
in smart grids, representing EVs circulation in a given distribution network area,
and able to provide realistic case studies for smart grid and distribution networks
operators as well as other stakeholders or research activities working in an area
related to the simulator’s purpose.

December 2015 Page 28
SOSPO-SP – Secure Operation of Sustainable Power Systems
SOSPO-SP includes new assessment algorithms providing useful information to
the power system operators in real-time. The use of Phasor Measurement Units
(PMUs) provides accurate and synchronized information every 20ms (in 50Hz
systems). SOSPO-SP uses new assessment methods in order to transform the data
provided by the PMUs in useful information to the operators
SIMUMAT – Distribution grids simulator
SIMUMAT allows the distribution system simulation considering different types
of regulations and the integration of distributed generators and demand response
programs.
