Modern works such as “Carmina Burana” and Doris Humphrey’s “With My Red Fires” have been part of our performance season. In 2015, the Dance Program featured the work, “Spent Days Out Yonder” by the world renowned postmodern choreographer, Bill T. Jones. This work performed to a live string quartet was presented not only on campus but in Chicago at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts. In addition, two student concerts are produced each year. “Art for Life” is a student concert incorporating all the arts on campus. All proceeds from this concert are donated to the Dance for Life Aids Foundation of Chicago. ”Student Choreographic Showcase”, an adjudicated production, highlights the best of NIU Dance student’s choreographic talents.
